Hi guys,
What is the policy in your firm related to working hours during Ramadan?
As per the UAE government, private sector working hour must reduce by 2 hours. Does your firm/project comply with this and if not, isn’t that a violation?

I think you should mention it. Last year I heard about an associate who was close to meeting hours and really motivated in the last month. I threw a bunch of work at them.

You should definitely mention it to staffing and to partners that might be able to give you work! There’s no point in pretending you don’t care about a bonus - who doesn’t like $$?? My partner mentor reached out to me last week and basically said: I want you to get your bonus, make sure you speak up if it’s looking like you might need more work.

Absolutely mention it. So what if you sound “desperate”? Our bonuses are not exactly small and you didn’t kill yourself all year just so you’d be unable to make bonus in your last month. Ask your staffing coordinator, senior associates, partners, anyone that may be able to help. “Hi, do you have anything I could help on? Would love to work together [again] and I’m a bit short on hours so I’d be happy to do anything, including late night and weekend work [if true]. Thanks for keeping me in mind!”
Uhm definitely mention it.
I’ve heard from several partners that they were incredibly disappointed by associates who missed hours but didn’t speak up when they were within ~100 hours of bonus—it was viewed as a reflection of laziness and apathy w/r/t the standards set for minimum utilization.
