I need advice dealing with frustration and bitterness before I get fired...

Remember that no ad, campaign or asshole is worth fretting over and let it wash over you. Also, remember you’re not saving lives or building rockets. No one has ever died from an ad that didn’t quite perform as one would have hoped. It’s just advertising.

I have been working long hours over the last months and feel overwhelmed, overworked and tired. I don’t see any way to change my current situation within my agency so I have been looking for other job opportunities but I am in a very small market, and nothing comes up. I feel unappreciated and exploited. I also feel angry because other people in my department who makes way more than I do seem to have it easier and are able to leave at 5:00 pm to have a life. I can swear it’s not related to time mismanagement. I don’t waste time, I work hard but simply there’s more work than available hours to execute it. I have a family and I feel I am neglecting them for a job that pays an average salary in the industry. Help. I need to advice in managing my frustrations while a change is possible. I don’t want my bitterness to get the best out of me. I want to be in control and keep my cool as long as possible. Nobody wants to work with a bitter person ( despite I have legit reasons to be unsatisfied). Books, articles or ideas are welcome

Thank you for listening. And for the book recommendation 👍🏻

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

My company had a downsizing a few days ago and I am laid off as well. now my manager has asked me to hold a “workshop” for our other designers to show and teach them how i work. (Its not handover, it’s completely for educational purposes)

1. Does this sound as ridiculous as i think it is? Should i say no or just do it for the sake of professionalism?

2. If you think i shouldn’t do it, how do you think i should stand up to his request? I really struggle with confidence in workplace as a woman.

Can a law firm in CA rescind an offer if background check reveals an omitted employment history? Worked at a firm for 2-3 months back in 2019 that wasn’t a good fit. Not fired but left to really drive my career in a better direction. I now have an offer from a great firm and scared background check will affect my chances.

A line cook in our diner got fired recently because he was found to be spitting in every item of food that was returned to the kitchen. The company I work for (as a 1099 contractor) failed to have me complete a W-9. Therefore, they do not have my tax id number, but have already wire transferred me 10 months worth of pay (in exchange for 10 months worth of work).

Now, layoffs are happening. Just curious...what would happen if I never give them a W-9 or my tax ID number...

Hi fishes,

I have the following 2 offers..

Cognizant- 21L fixed and 1.5L variable
PWC - 22L fixed

This is for a guidewire role.
Which is a better offer? What would be a good option for growth wrt role, salary etc.
Also, PWC claims to offer variable based on their fixed CTC based on the ratings.. is this true ? How much is the avg percentage given?

Thanks in advance!
