That’s a counteroffer and big 4 cannot be surprise, especially since it’s been a month since the offer was extended. Do not feel bad - Recruiters are used to this, just be honest, transparent, and clear about your reasoning.
Thank you for your insight! I definitely feel better about the situation after reading this. Im still very new in corporate America and was not sure how to handle this situation.
Let them know why with honesty - and move on. Great job on landing 2 jobs. Waiting a months to hire is too long, especially in such market condition. Congrats
I intend to be very honest and open about the situation. Thank you!
First, congrats on getting a counter offer with your current company. They must really appreciate your insights and talents. 🙌🏾
Second, it’s a part of the process. I’d recommend giving the recruiter / interviewer a call and talk them through your decision. They’ll understand and appreciate your openness and communication. Plus, it’s nice to keep “a bridge in tact.” You never know if paths will cross in the future (e.g., you become a client, they decide to work for your company, etc.)
Thank you! And i agree, i wouldn’t want to burn any bridges along the way. Who knows if i’ll go back to them one day.
I am happy for you. You must be hardworking that's why they want to keep you in their company. Just be honest with the recruiter and tell them the reason why you are backing out. They'll appreciate you for telling the truth.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your comment. I intend on being open and honest.
If you can still make a counter offer, then try that one first. But it would still be your decision after all. Just be honest with them and I'm sure you'll be fine. Congratulations and good luck!
Thank you!
Just be open and honest. They may be willing to match the offer. Depends on how bad they want you.
