Max out ibonds for you and your spouse. Open ROTH IRAs and max those out too. Invest in low cost index funds or mutual funds. With that sort of savings, you don’t need to speculate with crypto. Stick with the conservative investments. You can also diversify into some rental real estate.
Risk free treasury bonds that are guaranteed to match inflation. https://www.morningstar.com/articles/1108067/run-dont-walk-for-i-bonds
Good for you for saving so much. Many people cant hold on to 5% of gross income.

- Max all your tax advantaged accounted (401k, HSA, backdoor Roth, 529 if you have kids)
- index funds and chill
If your NW is $120k but you’re saving $180k, that net worth number should triple in 2.5 years or less. Stick to the plan and let the numbers compound
For the 529 do you put in the max you can? Or the max to get the tax savings for your state? We have one kid and could afford to put in more, but the tax savings caps after 5K is put in. Just wondering what others do.

I don’t have kids. But I would do max tax savings to start and consider more as it made sense
Is that 350 HHI net of taxes? Trying to figure out how you save 180 a year on that. I know the ultra frugal claim to get that kind of savings rate, but it's still mind-blowing.
Location : Obviously some opportunities exist only in CA, NY, DC. But if you don't work into them, you are better off in TX or WA (maybe others). They both provide high salaries, low taxes, reasonable cost of life.
Fixed Costs : A 1M+ house increases your fixed costs... I saw too many people burning out because of the $1m house, kids private school, and two mercedes cars, they simply couldnt afford not working. I want job freedom and recession peace of mind.
My Reality Test : The average (not median) household income in my city is ~105k gross which is ~75 net at best. I should be able to live on the average income... Otherwise I am rekless with money.
1) Have 18 months of expenses saved up in a HYSA as an emergency fund. Don’t touch it.
2) Save 80% of your take home pay. Invest in index funds.
3) no more than 5% in crypto
Manage your housing expenses and you’ll be crushing those NW numbers quickly. No reason to buy a 1M house in TX (6-800k gets you a lot here - property taxes are high and I bee them as the equivalent of rent and can be $1-1.5/mo on 6-800k house before servicing the mortgage or insurance)
Invest in index funds (eg, VTI) in a major brokerage (Schwab, Fidelity, Vanguard, TD Ameritrade) after maxing out 401k, HYSA, etc.
