Add roast chicken and veggies to rotation. It’s easy and good. Also learn how to make stir fry with lots of veggies and meat or tofu.

Also Meal service boxes like Sunbasket are great. That will get you in a habit of cooking new an interesting things. They send all the ingredients and recipe.

There’s a lot you can do with those, just get different types of seasonings. Think about adding high fiber noodles. Garlic and ginger never hurt anyone. Also please eat a vegetable once in a while your colon will thank you.

Roast a tray of chopped vegetables of your choice with some chopped onion, oil, salt, pepper, and other seasonings of your choice (garlic powder, smoked paprika, thyme, etc.). 425 is a good temp for most things and just pull it out once and stir it around halfway through. Use a few pieces of foil on the cookie sheet and cleanup is easy. Goes with anything, can be a taco filling, put it on pita bread with tzatziki/hummus, add to pasta, serve with garlic bread and cheese, put in a salad, etc.

Also I recommend learning how to make risotto. It’s actually pretty hard to mess up and you can put anything in it including the vegetables. You sauté risotto rice a little in olive oil with onion (and usually carrot and celery) and then layer in wine and broth a little at a time. It’s a good way to learn how to be an active part of the cooking process and you can tweak it to your personal taste with seasonings. Add meat, seafood, and/or vegetables that you cooked separately toward the end. Finish with lots of grated parmigiano reggiano! Can be a good way to use up produce or whatever you have in the fridge. I like to pan fry sliced mushrooms in butter and add those.

I usually just focus on a protein source and veggies. Maybe throw some rice or another grain in there. Maybe make a sauce. You can make big batches and mix and match this way.

I make sooooo many things in the instant pot and air fryyer. I absolutely love it because it is so easy and everything cooks so fast. You can make just about anything in the instant pot.

Does anyone else struggle immensely with cleaning/keeping things clean? I struggle with clutter.

Diagnosed with ADHD at 40. Tried Vyvanse for a couple of months. It works in terms of depriving grogginess, afternoon post meal crash, and suppressing appetite (at times).

However, I still needed help planning/prioritizing my day,  listening and active note taking, and keeping myself accountable. So decided to replace meds with coffee. Also, the fact that most people on meds had to progressively increase their medication over time did not sit well with me. (cont'd)

Any advice for asking to work from home?
I started my job just over a month ago and the one day a week I work from home I absolutely love. I have an hour commute to the office all other days and I'd love to even just get one more day at home. My manager is not aware of my adhd and I have crippling fear and shame around it so I'd rather not tell him. The office environment I'm in is honestly any neuroduvergent's nightmare. I know it's probably wrong to not tell him but I don't want any judgement.

I don't know for sure that this is an ADHD thing but does anyone else get really irritated by small things or have trouble regulating their emotions? Especially when you take a day off from medication? I feel like the smallest thing can piss me off, especially in the AM. Am I just not a morning person or this a symptom?

Does ADHD have a big impact on your memory? It feels like if I don't have constant reminders set or leave notes for myself I can forget ANYTHING even if it's really important to me. I think it's making my partner feel like I don't remember the things they say or don't care to listen. What can I do?? Not on medication but if it helps with this I'd take it.

Anyone here struggle with drinking enough water every day? Growing up, I drank a lot of soda and fruit juices but since 2020, I’ve been trying to be one of those people who always has a water bottle. They say you drink some when you first wake up but I never have a taste for it and then never remember to start drinking until about noon.

Any tips for note taking? My biggest struggle is retaining information communicated verbally. To compound the issue, I’m a millennial and was never taught note taking, short hand, or cursive (outside a week long lesson to write our names) in school. It takes me forever to write out notes and while I’m writing I miss everything that’s being said. I have no problem putting in the work to learn techniques but can’t find helpful resources.

I am trying to get an ADHD diagnosis, as my primary care and myself both think I could have it (runs in the fam). How many of y’all got diagnosed by a psychiatrist? Or did you have to do the extensive 4ish hour testing?

My psychiatrist said most psychiatrists won’t diagnose + give meds for adhd but the testing can get so expensive so I want to know if I should see someone else
