One of these companies isn’t actively evil and run by a robot. Go with that one.

Meta has had a lot of backlash recently for having to compensate for a bad brand associated with working there. I’m sure it’s nice to make the money but if you have ‘the mark’ on your resume and have to jump in 6 months because you hate it, may be better served with MS.

Also, I think meta is going to have a hard time coping with their current model of making money through selling personal information and similar data and increasing privacy regulation. I would hate to be there while they look at how to find the money they are hemorrhaging some other way, just seems chaotic.

MS sucks, but they’ve sucked the same way for years. We’ll call it sucking with stability.

Just my 2 cents. May be way off base but it is what it is.

If the offers are comparable, it comes down to the company culture that best fits your lifestyle/goals. I would do more research on the team you would be joining and decide which would be the best fit.

There is not enough money in the world to overcompensate for being stuck in a position/company you hate. Best of luck ✌️.

Hi all. Looking for advice. I’m trying to decide between 2 job offers (same salary) but different positions. One is a study director (essentially a project manager for a medical device company) and the other is in Quality Assurance (medical device company as well). Study director position company is slightly smaller but growing. I really want growth possibilities and a good career future. Any advice?

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time

This may be a dumb question lol...

But, here goes:

So I am a TA, filling 20-30 call center roles per month, on top of taking over some HR responsibilities until we fill our HR Manager roll..so I stay pretty busy, working 40-50 hours per week.

I was wondering...What do TA's do when they don't have any open positions to hire for? Does this happen? Is this a thing?

I asked a new joiner to go get up to speed on specific aspects of a tool. They “read” the material but didn’t do any hands on work in the tool. I wasn’t thrilled about that and mentioned they needed to work with the tool. Later I tried showing another tool to get them to do some basic updates. They balked and said they needed time to learn tool hands on. So gave them some tutorials to work through. Again they read the material without using the tool. I don’t get it. Any insight?
