I’ve spent my career on the internal/exec comms side of the house and am looking for a director role. I am getting some interest from recruiters, but the the roles seem to be focused on media relations. Is that typical?? I’ve managed external comms but it’s not my expertise. The roles do come with a broader comms team, so if I were to get one then it’s not like I would be on my own. Am I being insecure about not being experienced enough in media relations or is it ok?

I manage const for eng companies. Got short video interview, then a job offer @ low end my req. range. Experience: it’s normal to travel for a 2nd interview in person. Result: I see quitting to do this as risky. I asked for more $ than my prior range & explained I prefer we meet in person to see if it’s a fit 1st. Hiring manager wants me and may push for the $ but not the in person meet. Wonder if it could cause me to start there with less trust if they think I abused my position for more $.

I have recently joined BIG3 firm as analyst . I was very excited before joining but the team I am being put in has all maintanence project. I can't ask for team change for atleast 6 to 8 months.

On a positive side I am put on one AI product project where I can do some analysis based on client queries. Mostly using pandas and cloud technologies.

I was thinking to enroll to scaler course to improvise my ML concepts in more depth and doing more projects.

I started a new job last month and the position title is very vague/fluid and they wanted someone with a master’s degree, but they got me instead who has two bachelor’s degrees and seven years of experience in my field of digital marketing.
I asked my managers if I could receive my pay grade information to keep with my own personal records and they said, “In the interest of confidentiality we cannot share that”.

Feeling depressed because I just did a more realistic budget calculation for a March trip to Spain. B/w the need for refundable flight and hotels (I normally do airbnb and don’t care about refundable flights, and I don’t have enough miles and can only get us partial coverage at 1 hotel out of 2) plus covid tests, the trip is about $1000-2000 more/pp than I anticipated. My previous company I was working for a client where ppl frm Diff service based companies work together. Everyone have dedication towards work as the role was good.

Now the problem is with the current cmpny guys don't care about the work and the role isn't that challenging and don't see people take seriously abt work like loging quite late while the role requires to be in shift at right time.
Hard to mingle.
