I need some thoughts on what to ask for a starting salary. My background is ten years in tech support, and currently Lead Graphic Designer for my department with about four years of graphic design behind that. I also just finished my master's degree in Human Computer Interaction design (and was among the top in my class). I thought $80k as an absolute minimum ask but considering my credentials and education I really don't want to undersell myself. I'd appreciate thoughts on the matter.

One of my law school classmates had a neighbor shoot through his door and hit a court process server. Apparently, the neighbor thought he was an intruder because the server didn't announce himself.

I've been told that it's actually not common practice for a server to announce himself at the door, why not? I feel like it would avoid the situation. In no way am I victim blaming, I'm just curious as to why that's not common practice

Is it considered rude to ask about the salary range before taking calls with recruiters? I keep getting emails about c-level ea roles and they try to entice me by saving hybrid role with great benefits and compensation, but won’t post the salary range in their job descriptions. I guess my thinking is that I’d waste their time with calls if we aren’t aligned on compensation. Curious to hear everyone’s thoughts.

As a manager of a restaurant, how is it best to address parents with screaming babies/children given that it is not a kid-encouraged establishment? The parents were oblivious to proper etiquette and other guests complained making the parents of the screaming baby wildly offended. How does management appease all parties? What do you like and dislike the most about working in an agency?

I just switched to an agency but I don’t think I like it, I have worked my whole life in house and the differences to me are huge. Not sure if it’s only this agency, but I feel totally alone. I have given some projects but I don’t think there is collaboration at all and the communication sucks, everyone is too busy on their on projects or tasks.

My company has been recently absorbed, and my creative team has formed our own creative agency with lots of fun branding projects. We are starting to function as our own studio and price out projects. How much do agencies generally charge for Branding packages?
