How do you handle aggressive, hard-ass leadership?

I was on a group strategy call and our VP says "OK *account manager* (me), we have decided that your new focus needs to be electronics, do you understand that?" He said it in a very stern tone of voice. Well of course I understand it because it was my f*cking idea that I brought to his attention prior to Christmas.

IMO, this guy does nothing. He steals the ideas of his team members and then acts like tyrant in front of people.

Do you choose to notify your LinkedIn network of promotions and new job or choose to turn off the option to do that? Why?
It’s not a big deal, but I’m just curious to know what people’s take on it is.

I’m an Analyst around 9 months into work out of college. I find that for the most part I thoroughly enjoy the work I’m doing and find it interesting.
I haven’t, however, been able to commit to pretty much any consistent out-of-work activity (a sports team, art class, etc.) because of long and/or inconsistent hours. I thought this was normal for the role until I saw a few posts recently saying things about post-5 or 6pm WLB matters.
In your opinion, should I be looking for other opportunities?

I want to make the jump from telecom sales to SaaS sales. I have over 8 years Enterprise sales experience from well known large telecom companies and have had consistently been over plan. I get the sense that SaaS/Cloud companies don't want to hire from my industry. Do I need a referral to stand a chance?
