I need to work somewhere for like a year with great work-life balance. What agencies/clients/tech companies prioritize this in the city? And in your opinion would it be hard to get back into a more competitive agency after going somewhere more laid back for a year?

Just accepted an offer with a 10k pay reduction to leave consulting and live by the ocean. My new boss just mentioned that I can choose between 8-5pm or 9-6pm and doesn’t want me to work nights or weekends. I just had an employee tell me they are on the verge of quitting due to burnout- actually going to quit but was told to talk to HR for options (we don't have any in place). The manager wants to keep them as they are one of our best employees.

Any recommendations on how to help alleviate burnout when the cause is from customers rather than the company? Is it worth it to let the employee leave and spend months looking for a replacement causing more stress/burnout with others?
