Paying $700 for 1K is a lot, you’d probably be financially better off not having 1K and paying out of pocket for snack boxes and drinks (assuming you’ll still have Gold status which covers checked bags), but if you wanna go somewhere anyways, then do it
Yes, you'll get 280 plus points, which are worth several upgrades to Polaris internationally.
Ha! If you can actually use them.
Depends on your travel next year. For me it'd be worth it. Love my 1k

Definitely. Fly domestic first class to somewhere fun!
Yeah I’m still conflicted. I like having 1k but haven’t been so successful in using plus points. I should’ve planned this better earlier this year. I didn’t think I would be on a travel gig so took random airlines to save $100 here and there. I have the option to purchase upgrade for $300 for my flight tomorrow. Also I have a flight on Thai Airways coming up in Dec and I believe some of it will count towards PQP.
I factored in PQP I would get from my flight with Thai Airways. I actually only need $250 spending so I guess I’m going for it. What I like about 1K is when there are flight cancellations/disruptions, I seem to always get the next best option without even getting in touch with customer service.
