McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hey everyone -
Not the exact right bowl, but looking for advice/referrals for a close family friend trying to break into ESG/climate change/sustainability consulting.
They have ~7 YOE in finance (mostly junk debt, some S&T) and 20 YOE in development banking at an IGO (think World Bank, doing everything from public debt offerings, infrastructure, etc. all w heavy ESG/compliance requirements).
Thanks for the help!

Been thinking about posting a screenshot somewhere, but blurring our the name. Don’t want to get mixed up in the creative vs recruiter war raging on LinkedIn this 2017.
It’s good to know I’m not the only one struggling with them
Look, I know recruiters don't have it easy. But who the fuck does in this industry? Anybody have any insight on how things got this bad? Everyone has a horror story.
Droga?
^^Well, not sure if you’re looking for answers or just rage commenting, but I suppose there’s a wide variety of replies that would suffice. I just tried this out as an experiment and thought it was funny the way it turned out. Still, I’m not sure if it reflects worse on me or the recruiter in question. I mean, what if my email just ended up in a spam folder and was never even seen?
I have to talk myself down from sending them death threats. “We’ll definitely get back to you today.” Believe it when I fucking see it.
Freelance: I get you. Obviously what you did was snarky, but I feel like it's reactionary. Sometimes I really feel like emailing recruiters [after they reached out to me then ghosted] just telling them off but then I decide it's not with it.
Man, job hunting can be so demoralizing sometimes.
Can you post the email ?

Understandable

Which recruiter?
Uhh, I’d like to keep their name out of it, but let’s just say it was at a “top New York agency”. Not Grey though.
^^Oddly enough I know a copywriter who did write that kind of email telling off a recruiter only to get it all out, and when the writer went to close out of it, they accidentally and unknowingly hit send. Only reason that writer even knew about it was because of an immediate and apologetic response from the recruiter. Obviously, that’s a rare case. But, a funny story.
