Where and what are these companies in Michigan?!

According to the article Michigan was the fastest growing state for venture capitalists, but as a native to Michigan, I have no idea how to find these startups? Anyone know how to? Working in a startup atmosphere or for a startup sounds so fun to me, but I just don’t know how to meet people also interested in this topic local to me.

Unhelpful response but isn’t this usually what you would do prior to founding the company? Look up your various supplier options and see how you can make the numbers work based on various supplier costs?
Ideally, yes but we all have to start somewhere and time is an issue. Also, there's very little overhead so I thought I should at least give it a shot! 😁
Are you using Shopify? Cause they can solve that problem for you. Just search up all the drop ship options in your categories.
Alibaba is a distributor/wholesaler. Ideally you’re wanting to go direct to manufacturers. And I’d suggest you don’t want to build a model based on cheap goods from China, cause the situation with them over the next few years will get much worse before it gets better and you don’t want to be tied down or reliant on anything related to them if at all avoidable.
Alibaba is not just distribution or wholesalers. It’s almost equal the # of manufacturers. Most serious sourcers don’t haggle with distribs because they want more control over their product. Private labeling is the way to go.

Sources products locally as the cost of supply chain, gas, trade cost and quality of your products will be challenging. You want to build a sustainable business that won’t be impacted by constant international market disruption. Avoid Asia as lots of products are not quality and lack of compliance
