I opened up a Fidelity account recently. I have 100k to invest. In my mid 30s…what are good ETFs to invest in?

VTI is excellent. And if you want VTI, you could just buy the fidelity equivalent of VTI: FZROX. It’s a mutual fund, not an ETF, but it’s cheaper to own. VTI’s expense ratio is .03% and FZROX’s is 0.

I agree I have been with them around 20 years and have no plans to ever leave, but if in the future customer service was bad or I could get some large bonus to leave, I would think about. My IRA and HSA are all in their zero funds but my brokerage is all ITOT and IXUS.

If I was starting with $100K and went all ETFs:
20% VOO - S&P 500 ETF
20% ONEQ - Nasdaq ETF
15% VTI - total market etf
15% RSP - equal weighted S&P 500 ETF
10% SPSM - small cap growth ETF
10% DIA - Dow Jones ETF (could swap this out for more VOO/ONEQ/VTI or some other ETF)
10% AGG - total bond ETF; should have bond exposure in your 30s

Some combination of VTI and VXUS. Hold long term and you're golden.

Also they asked for ETFs so I would say VTI or ITOT

Why ETFs?

like

Is this a taxable brokerage account? ITOT or VTI and IXUS or VXUS would be where I would but the majority

VOO.

VT, VTI, QQQ, IVV

Invest in mutual funds. 50 percent outperform index funds. 25% each in small cap, mid cap, large cap, and international.

AMC 100%

Hearing a lot of Vanguard stocks here... There are Fidelity versions of the same holdings at 0% expense ratio. Don't buy the Vanguard stocks on Fidelity. Just Google to find out which ones match up.

They asked for ETFs. Fidelity does not have that many of their own ETFs and definitely does not have 0% ETFs. Also vanguard ETFs are fine to buy at Fidelity. Also if this is a taxable account, I would personally not hold the fidelity zero funds in it.

SCHD for dividend / growth ETF (15%)

I've completed the final rounds for 2 companies: AWS as an L7 Principal PMT and another that's a Series-A funded startup in the HCM space. I expect offers from both: AWS around $400k TC ($250k base + $150k stock) and the startup should be around $300k TC ($250k base + 20% bonus). If comp wasn't the ONLY consideration, what would you do? The AWS role will be an IC role and more hands-on/technical. The startup will be a CPO role reporting to the CEO with a team of about 50 devs+PMs.

Majority of my department has been informed we will need to look for other positions internally due to our jobs being outsourced. The timeframe for the full transition of all work to the vendors is approximately 6 months. This is the second time in 14 months I have had to look for another position due to outsourcing of work. Since I can only work remotely for my company due to location, is it best to resign or to hold out in hopes for a transition to another department?

Thoughts on the below role?

Got messaged about an analyst job doing the preliminary discovery stuff including dashboards. But not for the business, but to give recommendations to data scientists about where to focus. Having been a modeling DS, I can't imagine why I'd outsource exploratory analysis. Anyone seen a team like this before?

Also worried about career prospects. I've been wanting to turn business facing, but becoming the only DA on a DS team seems like it'd be a dead end with promos?

Is anyone familiar with filial responsibility laws? I have major doubts that my in-laws have enough saved for retirement / it seems they are planning to rely on SS despite currently living a pretty lavish lifestyle (brand new house, luxury cars, routine spa appointments, expensive dinners, etc.). I’ve heard of cases in PA (luckily we don’t live there), but what about other states? Also, I’m assuming if things go south at the end they can rely on Medicaid for long term care?
