Are you able to talk to your manager about changes in your personal life where you can't move for awhile? Your company may end up changing move in dates again since there's a lot of info no one knows yet. FWIW, my company changed office move in dates 4-5 times so far.

like

Did you get a move date yet? Covid isn’t ending anytime soon.

Alright sis, start interviewing for your new jobs. Don’t boomerang back, you left for a reason. If they ask in interview you tell them the truth, you have obligations and have to stay in your home area. I was at a job 6 months and unemployed for 4-5 months due to a military move. People ask about the gap explain and they get it. It’s not that Deep life happens and we’re in a global pandemic where life just isn’t the same anymore. Good luck sis you got this!!❤️

Would you consider talking to your new company about the change in your circumstances? Or are you positive / sure that continued remote work is a deal breaker (was it a condition of your offer?)

like

Have you talked with your new company yet? If you’re enjoying the job and doing well, it’s certainly worth asking if staying remote is a possibility. At least into summer. If you can get them to agree to, say June that will give you time to prove the remote work model or look for something else. As for what you say in interviews - the truth. Anyone would fully understand that life/family obligations happen and you maintain committed to work but cannot move at this point. I’d say that is reasonable any time, but especially this year and all the uncertainty and upheaval that’s happened.

Question for the Covid vaccine skeptics who said they’ll leave their company if they mandate the vaccine: what happens if the place you jump to then mandates it as well? Which is only getting more likely now that Pfizer has full approval. Are you just gonna jump from company to company to avoid getting it?

Anyone who's traveled to India in the recent past?! Have questions about layovers at different airports and how covid regulations play a role in it.... I used to always go to India via Amsterdam or some EU Airport and I loved that simple 8 hour route. Now, people are advising against it saying its better to do the direct AI or United flights...but then again, 15 hour flight time is too much for me to handle. Need thoughts pls!

Hey guys, struggling here and need some advice. My boyfriend and I haven’t seen each other since March (pre-covid) and we finally reunited this week for the rest of the summer (woo!). We’ve been quarantining with our respective families up until now, the day after we get together I start developing covid symptoms and we have to cancel a weekend trip (would have been a socially distanced\responsible trip) due to a surge in covid cases where we are and he didn’t seem understanding at all (cont)

honesty time: my wedding (indoor 150 ppl in NJ) is scheduled for May 2021 and I’m having a hard time visualizing it happening bc of how terrible things have been with COVID. part of me wants to postpone to 2022 out of fear but I know my venue will probably not let me postpone this early as they monitoring the situation as it evolves. how do i get myself away from my negative thoughts and start looking forward to my wedding? What are the chances 2021 weddings will happen?

I share an apartment with my sister. I’m super afraid of COVID but she doesn’t believe in it, I think, and neither does my mom who comes over from our hometown frequently. My mom came over and they were gone all of Saturday and Sunday going to the mall, to restaurants and wherever else they could. Now my sister has a 100.5 degree fever.

Anyone notice their eyes hurting as the first sign of coronavirus? My right eye keeps feeling like something is in it and I’ve been waking up with a little bit of gunk in both my eyes all week. They are not pink though. I was exposed to someone with covid a week and a half ago so just wondering if it’s related. Otherwise I feel pretty healthy.

Any experiential strategists or producers in here? Moved to NYC in pursuit of landing a job in experiential in 2019, obviously couldn't have timed it worse lol. Landed a social PM gig late last year but it really isn't doing it for me. Looking to see where you learn/learned experiential strat or makes you a good experiential producer. I know experiential is a ways off to return to pre-COVID levels but I'd like to start learning now! Thanks :)

Friend posed an interesting question that I thought I share with y’all / crowdsource your wisdom. She has 50K in savings account at 0.5%. Also has 80K in student loans at 3.5% fixed interest. My advice to her is to payoff 20K at least and keep 30K as a rainy day fund / invest some of it. What do you guys think? Her view is that the loan is a manageable monthly payment that she can service easily while also preserving cash as a safety net. Thoughts?
