This relaxed attitude is dangerous and I'm worried about what it will lead to. These issues must be addressed, these kids are not going to grow out of it.
It is SOOOOOO dangerous. You nailed it when you said that. It has to be shut down immediately.

Where are CIS boys getting positive reinforcement for being CIS boys ? Why do they look to someone like Andrew Tate? Because everywhere else they look they are told they represent all that is wrong with the world. Many don’t have a father in the house, the vast majority of their k-12 teachers are women, and the classroom norms place cooperation and organization as the highest values. Boys are pulled to Tate because of the vacuum left when anything resembling patriarchy has to go. Tate’s views would normally be viewed as outlier craziness, but there are no other voices speaking to the moderating center of responsibility and importance of duty, courage, and working as a provider.
We’re in an affluent district, almost all of these young men have fathers and other male role models in the home.
It is frightening! And it sounds like many of these young boys aren’t fully comprehending what he’s saying but are going along w it. He definitely has a strong hold over lots of kids. He’s a bottom feeder 🤮
I know, I do not understand Tates appeal to anyone
Allowing near criminal behavior moves kids closer to the line. Worse yet statistics prove even when those boys cross a hard line; that they probably will get away with it a number of times before/if they ever get caught.
Please find a way to escalate the attention to this problem. If they really are just "being boys" the school exists to teach them to be good members of society. It's unacceptable.
Either that or hire a jui-jitsu coach for your other students so they stand a chance when these boys attempt to escalate to hurting someone. Start passing out sexual harassment information flyers and rape whistles.
When I read Texas laws on sexual harassment and hostile workplaces, I'm fairly certain admin forcing you to witness this behavior without proper intervention is also illegal.
If no one is in your corner locally, say F it and call the media and school board.
It is such a sad place to be right now. I’m not sure what to do next, but I might see about getting some harassment information for the students
I hate the whole "boys will be boys" concept. We have to hold people of any gender accountable for their actions that cause harm to other people
I hate that just anyone can pick up a phone and start talking on social media and they have such a profound impact on students
Oh no! I hate to hear this. I would try to educate the students when you can and give them more perspective on why Andrew Tate's views can be misleading
On one hand, they don't understand what they are talking about, but on the other, if no one teaches them the correct way then they will never learn it and grow out of it. Your admin sounds lazy
Have you tried talking to the students about it when they bring it up? I’ve found sometimes that students think they are saying one thing when they thought they were saying something else…. Not that it’s necessarily true in this circumstance, but open dialogue allows you to give the students the benefit of the doubt, or a chance to learn something
“They’re just being boys” is an inappropriate comment. They need to understand right from wrong

You can't punish a kid for listening to the "wrong" people. Actions, on the other hand, should be dealt with according to school policy. Report ACTUAL harassment ad you would any other discipline problem, but it's not up to you to tell people which voices they get to hear.

The same could be said about Ana Kasparian. Honestly, we have too many teachers that want hide information from parents, so I appreciate that you want them to be involved. My only question to you is where you draw the line between a "hateful and sickening person" and someone you disagree with. The guy from Indiana seems like he'd want to report them for listening to Jordan Peterson.
As I said, there's no excuse for harassment, and that absolutely needs to be dealt with if it's happening. If you're looking to have a conversation about who the students are listening to, I would only do so if you're referencing something immoral that you've heard them say. Otherwise, they'll just see it as overbearing and ignore anything else you have to say.
Have any of you actually listened to Tate or Peterson? My guess is no. Perhaps you should take time to understand instead of name calling. What exactly are toxic misogynist? News Flash
You don’t build people up by tearing other people down. Unfortunately, that seems to be what is happening in society.

If you're going to say Jordan Peterson is bad, you have to explain why other than you disagree with him.
