Something to brighten up your day 🤗
Hi all, I am working in capgemini as a fresher and all my joining on boarding got virtually only. Never seen the office at once. Almost 1.7 year got over. Now they are calling me to Bangalore, I have no one and I want initial accommodation for at least 2 weeks other wise it will be very tough for me. They said it is not written in my offer for accomodation so I will not get. But this is unethical if it's not written on offer letter then I won't get. help me to get this accomodation pls Capgemini
I'll go first.

I would be more than happy to share what helped me! I studied 3 months but I’d say only 1.5 months of fully focused studying, if I’m being honest. I used Roger CPA review and would study 2-3 hours most nights after work and pretty much all day on the weekends.
I didn’t learn what worked for me until about half way through the 3 months and here is what I learned: watching lectures alone doesn’t help me much unless I’ve already read the chapters and taken my own notes. Once I figured that out, I would read the chapter and take notes as I went, and then watch lectures to round it out. I honestly didn’t take as detailed notes on sections that were easier for me but I always did it for the heavy hitter sections of FAR (bonds, inventory, revenue, leases, cash flows, consolidations) or sections I didn’t understand as well from the get go.
After watching the lectures I would do 10 MCQs at a time, and then again, and again, pretty much back to back until it sunk in. Any more than 10 at a time burnt me out and I wouldn’t want to study anymore. 🤣 I didn’t practice many SIMs and after seeing that exam, I wouldn’t change it. You never know what SIMs you’re going to get, you can only prepare by knowing the material and I think MCQs are a better way to do that in most cases. I practiced SIMs on the sections that were notoriously tested as SIMs, like cash flows and consolidations, though. Also, do NOT underestimate Govt/NP because it will be on your exam, likely as multiple choice but it is heavily tested. Do as many MCQs for Govt/NP as you can. I think my prep in this area was a big contributor to my passing
Lastly, I spent the last few days before the exam drilling MCQs and reviewing parts I was weak on. I did a 10 question quiz on each section (about 33 sections with Roger CPA) to review what I learned. I didn’t do any practice exams, I can’t imagine taking that exam twice in a week. 🤯
I hope this helps someone! Good luck!
Following- failed and need study tips 🤗
Study financial statements and put a little time into IFRS. 3.5 year of experience and just past FAR first time around (yes I know, late to the game but past the first time taken). Minimum studying, but know financial statements and disclosure well, which helped. Focus on multiple choice questions and good luck!
Not every chapter, only the ones I thought would be tested as SIMs like cash flows and consolidations
How did you study for it and how long??? 🤙🤙🤙
Did you practice the sims from each chapter?
