Have any firms sponsored mbas for tas people? I really want to do an MBA in the future, but mathematically speaking I will probably be around s2 or s3 when I apply. At that point it may not be justifiable.

I was offered $21 dollars for a supervisor position. It a state ran juvenile center in Nashville TN. Is this common or are they low balling me.

Got denied MBA Sponsorship due to low utilization and questions on performance. Have admission letter from top EU MBA. Should I pay and go or stay another year and hope I can pull it through.

I am on day 9 of my egg freezing journey and absolutely feeling all associated emotions. I am almost 35, still single, and at the height of my big law career. While I’m grateful and blessed to be in this journey, I’m feeling so much emotionally and physically. Any coping tips? My stomach feels so heavy (doc saw 36 eggs on Monday - though of course all aren’t and won’t mature). Doc also told me to refrain from heating pads which have been my best friend through all this 😭 would 💕 any/all insight!

Hi all—sorry this might be a bit personal or tmi, but I started big law about a year ago, which has been incredibly stressful etc. since then, I’ve noticed that my cycle has gone haywire, I miss periods or getting multiple the same month, there’s just no predictability anymore. I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this before? Does it get better/does your body adjust to the stress or will this just be my life now?

I have so much anxiety about making mistakes at work, with the latest one over a partner calling out a mistake I made (and should’ve known about) that a senior associate also didn’t catch during her review. I adore this senior associate and actually triple-checked everything to make life easy for her, and yet still somehow missed this ONE (tiny) thing. Does it get better with experience? As in less anxiety and less mistakes on the details?

Any women with men who are obsessed with sneakers? My husband’s birthday is coming up and I have no idea what to get him (not sneakers). Any ideas would be great!

Is there a “right time” to have kids in a big law career? My husband and I are considering trying, but I’m (technically) a first year (although I have been at the firm for over a year - had an extra long stub year).

My law firm gives me a report that breaks down the amount of billable hours collected compared to how much I’ve been paid on a monthly basis. Does anyone else’s firm do this? At what point do you think it’s acceptable to ask for a bonus/raise?

Weird question. Got an offer months ago for a job abroad (not in my country of choice) and turned it down due to the low salary and not being in Europe. I started a new role in NYCsince I got that job offer in a large firm (from a small firm in a small town), started 3 months ago, and I absolutely hate it. Not sure whether I should try this small firm abroad for a change in pace. The new firm swears, “if you ever work past 5 pm here, there’s something seriously wrong. We don’t believe in that.”

I think I generally do good work… except on one case with one partner. I got added to the case at a crucial moment with no context and no time to get caught up to speed. What I was asked to do was beyond my experience level and it’s been mistake after mistake since then. I just made another mistake this week, which I promptly addressed. Still, I have to call the partner tomorrow to explain. Continued…

I’m a recent grad and I just accepted my first attorney job. Is it lame to post about it on instagram? 🙃

Low billable, low pressure work in patent lit, tech trans or privacy law? Slowly realizing that as my boys get older, the money isn’t worth what I’m missing out on. Currently a patent litigation associate with lots of hearing, depo and trial experience (I’ve appeared on my own at hearings/depos) at a well respected firm. Have my CIPM and CIPP/US /E and /C. Just feeling the burn out; 2000 hours of billables a year just isn’t sustainable for me long term. Money isn’t a huge issue.

How do you respond to armchair lawyering from clients? I am a public interest appellate litigator, and after emailing the filed brief to a client, he sent me a long email detailing all the things he thinks should’ve been in the brief. He already has ordered me to do things that are outside the scope of rep and is a terrible listener, but as long as I am firm and put things in writing, it hasn’t been bad. How do I tell him he’s wrong and he needs to let me do my job, politely/professionally?

Ever deal with a partner who always asks 1 line questions when you submit drafts that are really unproductive? Nothing is ever simple and it is getting pretty irritating...

I am an insurance defense attorney. As part of the defense we go out to a lot of scene inspections that are dirty/messy (ie fire loss). The first time I wore business attire but soon realized that this was not practical. Therefore I’ve been wearing jeans to many of these scene inspections. However recently I’ve had a few of the (older male) attorneys make comments about not being professional. Has anyone else experienced this? What do you wear to a scene inspection?

Has anyone used BiBerk legal malpractice insurance in NYC and what was your experience? Any suggestions for alternative legal malpractice insurance companies?

How do you boost your productivity at work? I am starting a new job soon and want to try to avoid procrastinating on what needs to be done, but have struggled with this in the past.
