I passed on a company that a recruiter shared with me due to concerns about culture. Should I be honest if asked for my feedback?

Personally not completely honest. I would simply leave it as “I wouldn’t be a good match after learning more about it”, even though it’s not rude, it could be perceived that way, and I’m always hesitant about potentially burning bridges since the world is so small

To clarify, the recruiter is a 3rd party, not part of the company.

A client has a very-difficult-to-pronounce name which is a tongue twister for me. Don’t intend to butcher the name, but just can’t say it right. Personally, if someone from another culture said my name a bit differently, I just wouldn’t mind. This client is touchy about it. How do you handle this?

Struggling at work (first time manager, re-orgs, toxic culture) for the last 6 months. Experiencing secondary infertility and PCOS. Decided to hold out to utilize my mat benefits, hopefully to become pregnant after a few rounds of medications and lifestyle changes. No luck. Now work has gotten worse and I’m so burnt out. Been applying to jobs and think I’m close to an offer. Have started seeing a specialist but now scared of TTC with a potential new job offer. Has anyone been here before?

Interviewed with cognizant. Got offered a 65% base increase and target bonus is around 30%. Overall increase is about 100%. Go or no go? For context its going to be their bfs consulting practice. My concern is the culture and future exit opportunites.

This Pandemic taken many things from our Professional Life. Office Culture, we used to work together under one roof, Talking from one bay to other, Going for tea break and having lots of chit chat. Seeing new faces of joiners, and ragged them (asked them to sing, dance many things). Having lunch together and shared our tastes. Lot more.. Now seeing our close ones leaving for new opportunity, but we are only giving farewell wish from a small square virtual window. I am missing office culture.

Hi fishes, Just wanted to know work life culture in publicis. Got selected and I’m in a confusion on seeing glassdoor reviews.

BharatPe's Ashneer Grover’s abusive call row shows that new start-up culture suffers from old malaise of entitlement. Do you agree?

Anyone not looking forward to Black History Month? It’s has become so performative that I honestly ignore it. It’s been co-opted by corporations and everyone else to virtue signal and pay lip-service to the community. I celebrate my history and culture every day. I don’t need (or want) to hear a recycled NPR segment about King’s murder, read a New Yorker article re: “systemic racism is real, guys!” Or see an uninspired list of “Black Authors to Read.” This wasn’t Carter G. Woodson’s vision.

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?

VP at firm who is a strong sponsor offered to give warm intros at funds where he knows senior folks (Wharton alumni). I appreciate the sentiment and assume it’ll be informational but I have no idea what to ask these senior folks nor what to expect from the convo. I’d ask associates about the firm culture, their past deals, the pe landscape, and their responsibilities and say to keep in touch if there are open opportunities, but what should I be asking VPs and above? And what CTA to end with?

I received a job offer today for an entry level position. I lack experience in this field and didn't tick off all the boxes in the job description. I completed 2 conversational interviews + 1 additional interview with a skills test. They were very impressed with my skills test and all the interviewers seemed to like me a lot. I think the offer they gave was fair with market price & it pays more than my current job + benefits. I've been told to always negotiate but should I in this case?

I recently interviewed for a client-side marketing manager role with a global company. I’ve been engaged with the company for over a year and built a network of internal advocates. One of my internal contacts was the hiring manager who promised to do whatever she could to help me get hired. The position was on her team and she told me to apply. After five interviews I was not selected although I met all of requirements and more. I’ve yet to from her as to why. Would you fight this?
