M just promoted to SM. In tech strategy, what should I expect from a salary bump? Currently at 165k with MBA from target school.
Does anyone have experience with exiting to brand management after 1-2 years in consulting? Is it feasible? Or do you need an MBA? Which companies?
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
Does anyone have any experience with pursuing an MBA while working in audit in Big 4 public accounting? If so, what worked best in balancing work, school, and your personal life?
Do people still frame diplomas? I have a top-5 mba diploma gathering dust in my closet the last 6 years, is framing diplomas still a thing? Seems expensive, and I can’t think of a non-tacky place to hang it.
Currently interviewing and looking for inputs on the salary range for Senior Consultant (S1/2) in EY Business Consulting - Supply chain based out of Houston, TX. No MBA. 3.5 YOE (No B4 experience).
Middle initial in email signature? (Since we’ve established that including “MBA” in one’s email signature is unbecoming.)
MBA or law school?
Need advice on whether or not to use an MBA consultant. Any opinions / thoughts appreciated! Situation: just turned down a promotion and quit my job because it doesn’t align with my career goals and was becoming a waste of time. Planning on spending the next 10 weeks studying for GMAT and applying for new jobs/volunteering, then applying R2 for 2021. I have a 3.9 GPA in a non-traditional major (French lit) from a “fake Ivy.” Only M7s I’m interested in are Kellogg and Sloan. (Cont.)
Is it helpful for a non tech to get into Project management etc... doing CSM certification etc. Pls guide.
How much of a value-add are Exec MBAs? I've not come across many of them. Been in IB for 9 years (no MBA) and wonder if it's something I do around the time I try to move up?
Comp question - what should a B4 Senior with a CPA, CFF, CFE, and a MBA with 4 years forensic exp (D&T) and 6+ years non-forensic exp (industry) in NYC and DC markets expect in this current climate?
I have a work experience of 3 years 1st year as software engineer in Capgemini Then did mba Then 2 years at wipro as Functional consultant Now i am plaaning to switch I also have frm level 1 certification How much hike can i ask in my new company?
Interviewing for MIT Sloan Fellows MBA (1 year program) shortly. 10YOE and joining MBB in a couple of months, post-MBA level role. Reading some previous FB posts disparaging the SF program and feeling a bit downhearted about it. Are Sloan Fellows really looked down on by the normal (2 year) Sloan MBA program? Are there better alternatives for a 1 year MBA? MIT has been a dream for a while but it’s kind of like being told your baby is ugly…
What are the salary levels in Big 4 consulting? From MBA stats, intro pay seems to be the same as MBB. But on FB, I’m seeing people say Manager level pay is lower than 1st year Consultant salary at MBB. Which is it?
Thoughts on Accenture? How do they compare to EY and Deloitte? Have offers from all 3 but not sure which one to choose. Would ideally like to get my MBA in a few years and get into MBB. Is there a better/more prestigious choice between the 3? TIA
I’m currently on PIP b/c low utilization and “Performance trends” during my first pregnancy. I’m pregnant again, I was not promoted due to PIP, does that mean I won’t be eligible for paid mat. leave?
I m interviewing for a BSA Salesforce role at Google. What can i expect in first round of Solution Design phone call. What skills do I need to refresh. Any guideline is much appreciated as I am giving an interview after 3 years.
I wanted to know in reality how much does a partner lets say advisory makes on an average other than fixed salary?
Taking some time off. Need some book recommendations. Some light interesting non-fiction. No self help or management books. Just interesting topics that won’t make me think about work.
Moms with babies/toddlers in extreme cold places (like Minnesota) what activities do you do in winter ? Baby will be 8 months and toddler will be almost 2 and we just moved from FL.
On the bench for the first time in a while. So happy I'm not waking up at 4:40 a.m. Good luck to the rest of you flying out tomorrow! I'm going to sit naked in my bed and build a few decks.
For people traveling out of state - does your firm reimburse you for other state’s tax return? I need to fill tax return for five different states in 2017
I heard WK laid off 50 people this week ? Surely this can't be true . They're indepdent and can think long term
Thinking back to when I was in school. What do teachers have to do now that they didn't 20-30 years ago? What do they need to provide now that they did not have to provide back then? I don't recall buying anything than pencils/paper/folders. We covered our used books with newspaper or paper bags Classrooms were simple, not every inch of wall space was covered in charts, etc. The districts/teachers supplied nothing extra. What changed that teachers have to spend their own $ now?
MAGA friends, why does every conversation with you about COVID and the US Covid response include a claim that it’s China’s fault? Let’s say I grant your premise. How does COVID being China’s fault make the Trump response seemingly better? There are a number of things the president has to respond to that he did not directly cause - are you suggesting we don’t want someone capable of responding to events they did not have a hand in crafting?
How large are the MBB transactions services practices (LDD, FDD, ABL)? Do they use dedicated resources at the analyst/senior analyst level or generalists from the broader firm and is it possible to get into those groups as an outside hire?
Is it really worth it? When I think about having a kid I get sooooo much anxiety. I fear: the extra pressure on a relationship, the cost, the decision to keep working vs quit the job, the possibility of the kid having a lifelong disorder, the physical act of being pregnant, the act of giving birth, not having any time for myself, making an 18+ year commitment, the kid turning out terrible & blaming myself, making all the decisions on how to parent, & more. Does/did anyone else feel the same?
I have this problem that I picked up from my father growing up: can’t effectively communicate negative feelings to people that I’m close with. I sort of expect them to know, and when they don’t get it or don’t show efforts that I’m expecting to receive, I start to distance myself from them and shut down. I started to reflect back on why I do this, and sense that this is some kind of a sick way of showing I have more power over the other person. How can I fix this?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Software Sales question: I just got a job offer to join a post-Series A with under 20 employees. On the equity piece, I was offered .1% equity at a $142m valuation. This is a Senior / Director Sales role where I'll be blending IC duties + managing a team as we grow. I felt this offer was a bit low from the equity side. Anyone know how to evaluate this?
Grateful for my support system. I burst into tears during a zoom call with a project leader today. He said the sweetest thing anyone ever said to me in years. A quick catch-up turned into a therapy session.
CGI or CACI? CGI: 107k base, match50% up to 4% max of $2500, health deductible is 2k 🙃 i believe annual raise is 2% (at most). Or stay at CACI: 86k, match50% up to 8%, deductible is 600, annual raise 3%.
