If the judiciary is anything like the executive, expect everything to be painfully slow. Review how to write a federal resume (narrative form and about 3-5 pages). When you apply, either a machine or person reviews the submission to determine eligibility and if you generally meet the experience requirements. If you make it, you get "referred" to the hiring manager, which is presumably someone at the office you applied to work. This is the important part - hope that someone contacts you quickly at this stage. Keep in mind they sometimes get 1000 applications per posting. I got a screener call after a week or two after being referred. Thereafter, I got an in-person interview (pre-pandemic). A few days after that, they extended an initial offer.

Thank you for this! I'm looking at YouTube videos on how to write federal resumes. I also had a call with a career coach to do a resume review but her style of communication left a lot to be desired. So in looking for other career coaching assistance. Im also doubting my experience now the deeper I get into prepping for all this but that frame of thought might be expected. Anyway, we'll see.
