I started looking for external opps thinking my team wouldn’t be able to resolve my current situation. Have three interviews coming up as a result. But I connected with my team lead and somehow ended up telling her what I was going through, and she is now taking actions to help me resolve current situation. How do I leave my role as someone on the talent team. I am on a small recruitment team of only a few people, who connect daily. I am also responsible for sending out updates tracking new hires and upcoming leavers (aka I would be on this list if i decide to leave). If I am looking to leave my company, considering all of these things, how do I do it in the least awkward, most professional way possible? Noticing job postings stating high salary ranges for CA, CO, NYC, etc. I live in NY not NYC and work for a startup. I feel like the last two startups I’ve worked for the compensation departments have not done a great job at offering me a salary that is even close to my market value. Is anyone here a high-performing contractor who has had their job responsibilities recently restricted? I have worked as a contractor for the same client for 8+ years and in the past my client manager included me as a team member and asked my inputs (due to expertise) or efforts for most tasks. I work at a firm that is predominantly white. We live in an area that's predominantly Hispanic, but they don't speak Spanish. I do and I'm always used as a translator. It's very annoying because I don't even get brought it on the case. They only want me to translate or talk to witnesses and that's it. It takes me away from my real work. I'm considering removing that I am fluent in Spanish from my resume to not deal with this in the future. Anyone dealt with this before?

Have you ever been told off by an older attorney of color? We have one Black partner at our firm and in conversation with him this morning he told me I should work on sounding and looking "more professional" and not let my "tone" or "bad attitude" get in the way. I don't think I've ever had a bad attitude at work, and whatever "tone" I'm speaking in it's my normal one. As a Black woman I just feel super weird about it and kind of sad.
