I plan on buying stock for the first time, any words of wisdom or any apps i could use that could help me out? (Keeping in mind independence and all)

1. Buy in blocks of >$1k to not get eaten alive by transaction fees
2. Buy > that 8 stocks to mitigate risk (not all eggs in 1 basket)
3. Buy companies that you would hold forever
4. Focus on fundamentals - micro / business health

5. Compare P/E (and other metrics) to peers and to industry. Higher P/E does not in it of itself mean it’s bad - it’s industry specific.
Example: Financial stocks tend to have lower P/E’s and Tech stocks tend to have higher P/E’s

Currently building a house, 6 months to go and have down payment and a little more in a HYSA. Is it wise to put the remaining in an S&P 500 ETF to capture some of the bull market or hold onto cash?

It’s not much compared to most of the posts I’ve seen in this bowl, but I finally hit $10k NW after I started working FT in August.
