How much do you make that you want to spend 4k a month on rent?
4K a month on an apartment ?!
Might as well buy something with that monthly budget!
I am going to in a year or two.
NoMa is a great area! I am actually moving and ending my lease early if you’re interested. $2600 per month for a 1Bd 1 bath.
Dm me if you’d like more details

Budget does not sound that unreasonable if you’re trying to be in the mix in DC. You can live on 14th for $4k/month. You can also do Georgetown or the Wharf depending on what you are looking for.
I spend over $3k on a 1BR in DC and have absolutely no desire to buy into this area. I think some forget that renting is a whole lot less of a headache than buying. Also, housing is cyclical and one could argue that we are at the top of the market right now. Owning requires a long term commitment and not everyone is looking for that. Best of luck to you in your search.
Yes and I am not from here. If I like it, I will buy.
Look at apartments at city center if youre working closer to the mall
Just a thought. Moved to NOVA in October and could not enjoy Clarendon any more. 3 metro stops and you’re in DC.
Sure, but that's like saying just live NJ, it's just 3 stops from NYC.
Still an expensive Uber/Lyft/cab or multiple metro transfers to get where you're going in DC. Just set expectations you'll probably spend more time in Clarendon as it's easier/cheaper.
If you’re not tied to having amenities I’d highly recommend looking into a rowhome. I just moved to one on 14th (after living in luxury buildings for a few years) and it’s exponentially better.
I enjoyed staying at Capitol view on 14th. Walkable to U street. Great apartments. With that budget you should get one of the penthouse units with rooftop deck. That’s what I did and loved EVERY SECOND
Also live here now and like it overall. Top units are really nice.
I would skip the apartment, you can get a full townhouse on that budget. Better yet, you may even be able to buy.
I live near 14th and U in an apt for $1,400, not a building you can find good deals on craigslist or through friends!
It’s not a building it’s a townhouse on 13 and W super quiet. If you want a building near there the Ellington has a nice roof. If you face u street it’s noisier but if you face north it’s quiet since there is a field.
