I've seen multiple people do this at EY with no issue. Take your 2 weeks, come back, put in your notice. Word of advice, if your last day is on the 1st of the month, then you have insurance for the whole month.
I start my new job a week after I come back from vacation so I would have to give notice before I come back. Thank you for insurance advice!
Yes, they would rather pay out vacation and have that count as part of your two weeks
Probably
If your vacation is after your 2 weeks then it's more a discussion of where you are doing. If another b4 your last day may be the day you give notice.
At Ey, if the pto was earned in the prior year (before 10/1) then you do not get paid out. It only the current year pto (10/1 and later)
Official policy is that you can’t use vacation during 2 weeks notice period. It’s in the policies in my people link. I’ve seen plenty do it, but you usually need to get approval from HR partner. YMMV depending on office norms.
Why would you ever take vacation during your 2 weeks when you can get it paid out? That makes absolutely no sense
The point of notice is to provide for an orderly transition, so it’s kinda a dick move
