Providence Health & Services Anyone looking to exit to industry? I’m a former Big 4 revenue cycle consultant now leading the net revenue valuation and analytics at a large West health system with two current openings. One is in the data shop (SQL, cloud migration, Clarity) and the other is on the analyst side (budget/forecast, variance/trend analysis). Offshore team for the grunt work allows us to focus on value-add, including collaboration with our data scientists on integrating machine learning into our processes. Providence Health & Services

I wouldn’t share. The only question is have is are you willing to stay if the counter you? If yes, then maybe open up doors and ask HR why, etc. if no, then just say you wish not to disclose this info.
This unless the company you’re going to results in an independence issue
You’re under no obligation to share that info, they’re just fishing for a number to see how much more you’ll be getting, whether it’s too much for them to counteroffer, and if not - what’s the minimum amount they can offer you to match it + least possible amount they’re willing to offer above that to start negotiations to keep you.
Word to the wise - if they match - don’t take it. They’re gonna work you just as hard + room for extra to cover the new raise you forced, and things *won’t be any different.* Either negotiate further and make it worth your while, to stay there miserable, with the immediate leverage you have while you still have it, or take the new gig and at least have something different for yourself w/ a fresh start away from the built up negativity that’s dragging you down.
It’s also a factor in annual market increase portion of comp.
You can tell them, but add 10-20% of your current salary. Best case scenario they match it with the 20%, worse case scenario the company will start opening their purse to other employees.
I did that with a previous firm, and they were willing to counter with the 15 add on.
Congrats!
Telling them has zero impact on me now so I told them when I left
It's both to determine if they can match as well to collect market info.
I just recently gave notice and was asked my new employer name by my business advisor who was handling my exit. I reassured her that it’s not a competitor or a client. I also did my due diligence and informed her that it’s also not a restricted entity. Let them know you prefer not to disclose if they keep pushing
It doesn’t matter if you’re going to a competitor, but in my situation I’m not.

That’s weird. I’d ask why they need that information. I don’t see any reason why you would be obligated to provide and I’d never optionally provide it.
Side note - do you have any non-competes signed with your firm? If so, would you be breaching those?
You gotta tell them the company but that’s about it. Don’t let big brother get you
