I put most of my net worth in index fund. Shall I be wary now in the age of coronavirus?

If your time horizon is longer than 5 years no.

Depends on your time horizon, as said above. If this is for retirement or 10 years down the road, what happens today, next week, or next year means nothing. If the price drops, you buy more.

If you need this next year for a down payment on a house, I would be concerned.

Easy way to invest when you have no clue how:

Step one: buy index fund
Step two: continue buying index fund every month, at the same percentage of your salary until you get close to retiring.

Congratulations, you've just eliminated every short term market risk

Jack Bogel is that you?

Depends on:
1. Your age
2. When you plan to retire
3. How many months your emergency savings will last

I got interviewed at KPMG and got positive feedback. I am offered consultant position and was asked to share my documents with expected salary. It has been 3 days now and no has called me negotiation any further. Is it normal that it may take this much time or is it possible they can close the position internally without giving me an offer letter?

How many audit busy seasons do you need to switch from audit to FDD. My recruiter is telling me I need “two full years” to switch into a Senior role. “One full year” to switch into a experienced associate role. Is this true? I thought we just needed two busy seasons to switch into A senior role?

Curious on the industries thoughts on people who over sell themselves in the interview process for a senior level position and when they get the job it becomes clear they don’t actually know how do the work. If you are a supervisor what are your thoughts in this instance? How long do you give the person to “figure it out”? Currently dealing with this within our dept and it’s causing more work/frustration than the new hire is actually helping.
