No. Don't put work first over your personal life.
If you do, you are part of the problem in PA
Heck no.
Depends on the singer! Just kidding... but no, enjoy your time off. You deserve it. Which concert by te way? I'm jealous
HELLLLLLLLL NOOOOOO
It depends upon whether your sacrifice will be noted and rewarded sufficiently or not. Early in my career I cancelled plans and the firm paid all the change fees (ended up in the $ 000's) and they made it known they appreciated it. I was promoted soon there after with material comp change. However, if you are just losing a life experience for a pat on the back and a 😐 then don't forget to buy a t shirt and be wary of prescription drugs ...
Enjoy the show. My point was that if the right person asked the right way you should listen. Seems the wrong person asked the wrong way.
Tell them to go fuck their mother. It's your vacation and in your schedule. Take it
^ firms don't reward special efforts anymore. Partner's don't have the ability (in the firms they own) to offer comp outside of the national structure... moreover, if your firm can't find staff in July, why are you still there?
Alright, I'm hearing everyone loud and clear! 😂Thank you!
Managing Director 1: It was a request by scheduling directly, not a Sr. Manager/Manager or anyone in my office. They packaged it as an offer so that I could "boost my charge hours", as I'm not at 100% YTD. I'm out on a Friday and Monday in the middle of final, so I'd have to cancel my plans entirely. Actually, I'm out the week of interim, too, but those tickets have been purchased already and I'm not even considering canceling plans... I need some sunshine in my life. I had that thought though, maybe someone would notice and appreciate it! Sadly, I don't think that would actually be the case.
PwC 3: The job is owned by a partner in a neighboring city, I think they're trying to utilize our local office for staffing. Is it a red flag if a firm is unable to find local staffing in July? Maybe they pushed the "get your PTO in" emails a little too much, lol
No
* the way. Sorry for the typo
