I wish I had someone to hug me
Does anybody have any advice when applying to postings with many applicants and getting noticed? The company I am interested in is Figma, and though I reached out to a few technical recruiters after applying through LinkedIn, I am wondering if there might be something more I could do that maybe I’m not thinking about. Also along those lines, if anybody here works for figma I would love the chance to connect
Single M here... any F wanna chat?

When all is said and done I think kpmg might be the place to be, I have had nothing but great interaction with all of their people from hr to partner, I'm a sm here and I'm about to pull the trigger to jump over
No way. Deloitte also cares about career advancement and really emphasizes work/life balance...At least their on boarding decks say they do, I have yet to actually experience it
Industry! I'm going into the field I love with a great team who care not only about career advancement but also really emphasize work/life balance.
Also- advice that you can take or leave- I know a lot of people have been making posts about being depressed. If you're not happy in consulting it doesn't mean you're a failure. You might just not have been aligned with the right project or right team. NEVER let anyone tell you it's too early to start looking for another job, everywhere I interviewed didn't see it as a problem. Life's too short to live it unhappy. Don't give up
I just quit too. PwC is a toxic place with a toxic culture
Jk dude. Congrats. I'll be right behind ya
Still in the job applications phase, hope something turns soon. Can't wait to get out!
Thankfully I already know multiple people on this team, much better to get real firsthand accounts than the bs I was fed in this past job.
I work at PwC and having a blast, don't blame the whole firm bc you were on a shitty team..
Haha PwC 9 if you have a problem with me, you're more than welcome to contact me directly vs. hiding behind an anonymous forum. How embarrassing. Like KPMG 3 said, I blatantly stated I was laid off and the entire point of my post was to possibly help comfort people who are currently finding themselves in the same position. If anything, I was more truthful than necessary and absolutely more truthful than the majority of people in my position. You obviously didn't read my post, and I don't care if you do or don't - but don't anonymously talk shit about me. You're better than that (I hope)
You did?? What's next?
It's always good to ask for the real story from friends who already work at the companies you're looking at
Haha not Deb but funnily enough I've met her before. Going into tech field but in a non-tech role and a non-tech background. Just under a year, project had no scheduled end date
I read her blog post about quitting, and while I may not agree with her on all her points, I could definitely relate in some aspects
^ Posted a blog that apparently struck a note with the Fb user base but outed myself in the process... So now people know my name
I never saw her claim she was dropped out, her blog and post said she was laid off
Thanks op. I needed encouragement
Quitter.
Deb?
