How is your vacation request structured. Does it include your days off, or are days off a separate request? We are required to request days off separate from our vacation, making it a 2 step process.

Is it rude to tell my best friend I want my own hotel room with my fiance when we attend a best friend couples destination wedding? The price is cheaper with more people in a room. She’s the only single one left out of the bunch.. feel bad.. but I value vacation time with my future hubs since were always so busy.

Need some vacation advice. I’m at an all-inclusive that was billed as “luxury”, but food and service are mediocre, the resort is run down, and we’ve had mult instances with other guests making drunken scenes. My wife and I have been doing the all-inclusive route for a while now and I think we’ve come to the conclusion that we need to just go to an expensive, pay as you go resort to get the food, service, and higher caliber of guests. Suggestions on such a place? Carribean preferred. Thanks.

Why are salaries in Europe so much lower vs the US? US compensation is literally double the one in Europe.. Even in big cities like London and Paris. Not to mention the redicolous amounts paid in Spain or Italy

What's your firm's time entry policy? Recently was told we had to release our time daily or we could lose our PTO. Before this we had to release it once a week. Anyone else have such a policy?

Planning to take time off work (quit) to travel and explore life. I have money saved but would love to do contract/gig type work while traveling (maybe 10-30 hours a week depending upon what I have going on) to stay busy and have some type of income. I currently work in data and analytics consulting. Any ideas on how I could approach finding work while working remote and out of the country? Open to any ideas!

Is there a video conferencing platform that simulates virtual networking well? Not zoom breakout rooms. I’m thinking more like lots of dynamic rooms that people can always see who is in that room and then freely come and go. In-person equivalent would be like networking circles at a cocktail reception and you migrate from circle to circle based on interest or holiday parties based on wanting to catch up with those people.

Hi Mamas, trigger warning… we have lost our baby at 23 weeks. I’ve already told everyone at work about the pregnancy… anyone who has gone through this, how did you tell people what happened? We’ve told our close family what has happened and it was so hard…. I am dreading telling other people… my mind right now is - do I send out a note? Do I just have my admin let my LT know? Do I just take my time off and let folks assume?

I just got an offer for a project management role in LS that’s +50% of my current salary! WLB trade off seems like it’ll really suck though. Any tips on negotiating PTO or flex work? Currently I’ll have about 8 weeks this year because of PTO rollover with 25 days standard yearly and they offered me 15 days. I work fully remote and this offer is expected full time in the office “once we are able and everyone feels comfortable”. I live away from my family so working remote has been important to me
