I reached out to two recruiters in my target market and they have different opportunities available. Is there any issue applying to different opportunities at the same time through both of them? Has anyone ever had similar experiences?

They’re for different opportunities so I don’t see the harm in applying to both through two different recruiters. Some recruiters have a better relationship with certain firms.

I don’t see the harm. Request that they clear any submissions by you prior to submitting. This should hopefully avoid the chance of your resume being submitted twice anywhere.

I became a mom and four months down, head of new business (guy) in my company and the HR (lady) interviewed me for an exec leadership role. Obviously I was excited for the interview but…. the interview went well with the guy and I felt the role was made for me. However, the lady kept bringing back the topic that ‘I am a mom and need to focus on my family’ again and again and again. Honestly it was unnerving. The feedback I received from HR (lady) was we felt you won’t be able <cont. in comments>

Hi everyone,

I was affected by layoffs about a month ago and urgently looking for a good immigration lawyer. The lawyer should be experienced in handling this 60 day grace period situation and developing alternate strategies - such as change of status to B1/B2 or applying to jobs from India. There is a lot of noise and wrong information going in the market so looking for good recommendations.

I have very little time left for my grace period to end and need a consultation soon. Thanks

I just listened to an interview of a creative director recount their path towards copywriting at a famous ad agency. It could not have been a more textbook case of failing upwards as a white man.

It would seem the only thing you need to make it as an advertising creative is to have lots of not particularly original ideas. Practically every other skill is unnecessary. If you’re a white man.

That this level of mediocrity passes for talent explains why so many agency briefs are so lame.

What are recommended places to post jobs if you're trying to get a diverse group of people to apply? It's important to me to have a balanced team, but sometimes fear LinkedIn or traditional routes might overlook women or minority applicants. I’m a business/commercial lawyer with 8 years experience looking to relocate to Chicago from NYC area, while also trying to make the jump to in-house after only ever working at a boutique firm. It’s been 5 months and I haven’t had any luck applying to job postings on the usual sites (no calls, no interviews, nothing). I can’t tell if this is due to covid, the market, the fact that I don’t have any in-house experience, the fact that I live out of state, or something else entirely. Any insights??
