I read an article about a school that is using simple ways to make remote learning as close as in-person as possible. One solution? Every kid gets a whiteboard/marker to use at home and work out problems. What simple solutions is your school using?

We’re doing the whiteboards too! They keep the kids engaged and participating, and they can work out answers waaaay more quickly and easily than on a jamboard.

I started my professional career in the fall and have only been wfh since. Looks like wfh till September. I have struggled with a lot online: onboarding, relationship building / networking, and motivation. In fact, I am feeling really burnt out in the past two months. For experienced PMs, what advice do you have for us who have only known wfh this year?

Do you think using “him/her” for “he/she” (ex: “her is playing” “him not here yet”) is something that kids usually grow out of? Or does it need direct intervention? I have 2 students who exhibit this error, who otherwise should be dismissed. Normally I’d just keep them on and work on it alongside other goals, but they don’t have any other goals, and with COVID, and my upcoming maternity leave in March, a more compact caseload would be advantageous.

My husband yells at me in front of my 2 years old, even when he is scared. He needs to express his anger out before he can shut down. I am planning to leave him but I am hesitant because I am afraid this would negatively impact my son more, not having a father figure around much.... not the first time, my husband promises multiple time that at least he would control his anger in front of kid but never Lee up the promise...sometimes he would even throw stuff (not at me and my child)...

What's a rule you are expected to enforce that you strongly disagree with or are indifferent to. Do you enforce it or take the risk? I move around as a tutor and am currently working with a school that has a ridiculously strict formal address policy. One of my second graders refers to me as "Miss Tutoring (my first name)" - it's about the cutest thing ever and doesn't bother me one bit. We are moderated sometimes and I'm more worried about her getting in trouble than me for not abiding.
