I really hate working for the big 4. Why do I need to screenshot Gchat conversations and emails in order to defend myself? Why does it need to be a you vs. me environment? Why can't we raise each other up?

Verge of turning 40, having a mini crisis. Unmarried. No kids. No relationship. On the verge of a nice SM offer from B4, but recruiter is telling me many people from my firm looking to leave are exiting to industry because SM & MD roles are super hectic. I don’t understand how MD comp is structured at Accenture as an example but recruiter keeps pointing to how it’s lucrative but massive effort. I’m 40 & not sure I want to go deeper in consulting. Should I just exit to industry?

Hi all, my current title is Motion Graphics Designer. I just finished my probation (6 months which is very uncommon). I proactively asked my manager for a review because I negotiated to have "title review" included in my contract when I got hired as they didn't want to offer Senior Motion Designer. The department head (my manager's boss) is happy with the work I delivered. How should I prepare for this title review and pay raise negotiation? Currently getting paid 88k. I am expecting 95-100k

The average raise from first to second year seems to be 6.5% but I really want to gun for 10%. I have good reviews and the best chargeability metrics in my starting class. I recently got a promotion in my company to work as a Junior CSR in Commercial Lines but I also got a job offer elsewhere to work in the entertainment insurance industry as an Associate. I got the RIBO license in January. The job offer pays more than my promotion but once I told my manager I had this offer she said they are willing to match that offer, however I wouldn’t see an increase in salary for a while. I don’t know what to do because both jobs sound really interesting. Any advice?

Perspective - biggest issue we face in USA is income inequality. Specifically boomers versus millennials. Why isn’t the millennial generation drastically fighting back? Clearly government control is not the way to go, but there are also clearly some major problems with a system that requires endless growth and prioritizes capital accumulation as an end in itself.
