Happens for maybe a week or 2 then you start to notice the scale drop…
Essentially, when you start working out(no matter how intense the training is… you’ll check the scale and you’ll notice it sharply go up…. Don’t worry.. just keep at it, because It’ll start to come down.. give it about 2 full weeks and you’ll start noticing the scale dropping.
This is good to know. Thank you! I hope I don’t lose the little progress I’ve already made even if it’s only like 4 lbs lol it’s been keeping me motivated! Also, I imagine since I’ll be doing these more intense workouts that I’ll need to increase my calories a little so I am fueling my body enough. Any ideal what’s a good amount to increase by? Like 200-400? I know the workouts wouldn’t be considered too intense for a lot of people but for someone who is essentially starting from scratch again, they will be. I still need to be in a deficit but I don’t want to under eat either.
You’ll also always retain water after particularly intense workouts for like a day because your body’s recovering. I’m usually 2-3lbs heavier after leg day.
If you have a tendency to get hung up on daily fluctuations in weight you can get a smart scale that will graph your weight change over time and compare weekly averages.
This is helpful. Thank you! I do weigh myself daily but I try not to get too hung up on it. I tend to look at the overall progress on a weekly basis to judge how I’m doing (in terms of making sure I’m eating in a deficit).

Don’t get caught up in the short term , just keep weight training and doing cardio, with a good diet, and you will see progress
I’d try hot yoga! I love it
