I really need help from everyone here: I am a tax senior, and I have offer from both EY and MNP. I was at Deloitte earlier and I am not sure which to pick. Same package/benefits. While EY is a great firm and the partners are amazing and all experiences of Big4 and it's resources, MNP has this charm of a Canadian firm and great culture. I don't know much but people say MNP is a great organization. The people I will work with are all amazing to speak during interview. What to do now?

I don’t know anything about MNP but culture and people are huge. I would go that direction. I guess you don’t really know about that until you get there though

Thank you so so much everyone! I picked EY, i think i wish to stay in Big4. As everyone in EY will be Canadian too so i think I will be fine there as well! ☺️☺️

You already did a big 4. Why not go with the Canadian firm, they seem like they have a much more chill vibe and I think you would enjoy it better there than another big 4.

What’s your end goal? Which offer best meets that?

like

Anything beyond $ and promotion? Do you want to make partner at a big 4 or mid sized firm someday? Do you want to exit and start your own practice? Exit to industry? If so which industry? Public or private? Do you think you might want to move somewhere else and if so, which offer gives you the most flexibility? Do the type of clients and work exposure differ between the two offers?

If the money and promotion opps are your main criteria then sounds like you can’t go wrong with either offer. I’d pick the Canadian company just cause I’m Canadian. 🇨🇦

I agree, so what is your ultimate goal? EY health insurance is not ideal, but I have to tell you most people is really nice. And why don’t you try to tell both firm that you have an offer and see which one can pay you the most?

I received TCS offer 10 days after I joined another company as they took more than month to release my offer. My BGV came negative saying you are working for another employer. I tried convincing HR that I am ready to resign now again and join TCS within a month as my initial joining date with TCS is also in December but she says offer is cancelled as you didn't inform me of your joining to another company. How valid is this?
