I really want to move out of my parents place for social reasons etc. I still hangout with friends a lot but it’s just a hassle having to drive a hour or so to kick it with them. So my dilemma is I enjoy saving $ on rent (yes I know can’t have both) but the main reason for me moving back home is so that I can save and buy a house. On the flip side with how expensive houses are right now it’s hard to even buy. I’m in CA btw SoCal. If anyone has any suggestion of places to live for a 26 YO TIA!

I live in LA and I wish my parents had a house that I could have lived in to save money for rent. If I were you, I would be very disciplined for a year or two and stay with my parents to save. It’s still cheaper to drive an hour to hang with your friends for a day or two out of the week. I work from home, so when I want to hang out with friends, I leave before traffic and just work in Sbux or somewhere chill and then I’m already in the area. If you don’t want to live at home, the only other option would be finding your own place or maybe renting out a room from someone (cheaper option) OR get your own place (or with roommate). LA is big so, can’t recommend cities until I know the area you are nearby.

Tough! How about buying a condo for a few years to build up your wealth?

The downside with houses is that they’re super expensive and you’ll have to exert yourself or do things like stay at home while you save money. With a condo you can save money and build wealth and have privacy. Just a thought! You do you, and I hope it works out and that you get your social life back!

I am feeling demotivated. I started preparation few days back, but could not do it consistently.

I am not happy in current organization, I think don't have any goals.

No company is scheduling interview, at one point I am thinking to resign without offer.

I also indicated my manager that i might resign.

Not sure what is happening. Please help me and don't ignore.

Now this seems the only platform where I can find any help/direction.

Hi Fishes!!
I’ve offer of 21 LPA from Barclays and my joining is in 3 weeks. I’ve 5.6 years of experience in Abinitio and current CTC is 14.5 LPA.
Is this the maximum Barclays can provide for my skillset?
In HR discussion, they mentioned that I should not come with any counter offer, but I’m feeling that I’ve not done good in HR discussion.
Keeping in mind that I still have 3 weeks and Barclays is my preferred organisation, please suggest what to do. Is this best offer or should I renegotiate?

Is there an app to target specific houses or streets for when they go on market?

There are certain houses located along certain portions of some roads that I don't drive by regularly. But I would love to know if any of them ever go on the market.

I was thinking it would be great to have a Google maps like app that you could browse and select a bunch of houses and eventually get a notification if any of them ever go on the market.

Or, is there any other low effort way of doing this?

I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. Question for my fellow investors - I’m currently tracking “ROI” as my initial up front investment against tax, property, interest, etc. As the principal gets paid down, is that considered part of the denominator in my ROI, or should I hold that steady at my initial investment and just consider the principal part of “income”?

I’m making more money and am torn on what to do with the extra monthly income. 1) follow Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps (modified slightly) -OR- 2) Purchase another house (either flip or rent out). I have a rental pro currently, but my parents rent from me so this new one would need to be more involved as a landlord. I have family in construction that can advise with any remodel if needed. If I go with the 2nd option, I would still go through the baby steps, it would just set me back 5 years.
