I received a promotion with a new team and I’m nervous because they send emails late at night and on weekends. Any tips on how to set strong boundaries from the beginning? I want to keep my wlb!

Turn off email notifications after outside of work hours

Establish expectations with your boss. I often send meetings late at night because it’s more convenient for me to take an hour at 9pm and knock out things than to do it in the morning. Your team may be working that way — at which point no response is expected.

If a response is expected, then you need to rebaseline with your boss.

The key is to only check emails during work hours.

like

Unless your boss indicates concerns with what you're doing, I say don't let their hours dictate yours. This new world of working from home means, in some jobs, the hours don't matter as long as you get your work done. When it comes to team meetings, etc., if the boundaries aren't clear, just ask your supervisor.

I'm struggling at work and in the process of adjusting my meds, while simultaneously trying to fix some bad habits that I think came from burnout. I thought having a manager who has ADHD would be helpful. On the contrary, they don't seem to have a lot of empathy or patience for me. I think, in part, because they have theirs under control and are a high performer. Maybe they forgot what poorly controlled symptoms/adjustments feel like? Anyone else have similar experiences?

This past year I’ve been feeling especially burnt out. Briefs are taking longer to click and it’s a struggle to come up with creative ideas. Even when I come back from a few days off, I find myself unable to focus on even the smallest project. I’ve thought about switching agencies or go in-house in hopes that new clients will get me excited and eager to work, but worried I’ll find myself in the same boat. The need to pay bills seems to be the only thing keeping me going. Any advice??? Plzzz

Any thoughts on the 75 Hard challenge? I’ve started seeing it circulate on social media again and I’m interested to give it a try (I do better working out and eating well in a framework). But, I’m not sure I love how rigid the program is - seems like it could be setting you up for a bad relationship with your diet and/or exercise.
