I received a verbal offer today for a Denials Analyst position. I asked for an offer letter or anything in writing but they said they were unable to do so if I haven’t yet accepted the position. Is this normal?

No, not normal at all.

This did happen to my friend for a Development Manager role at a non-profit. She accepted and everything worked out fine. We did think it was strange at the time.

Yes it’s normal. In most big companies, you have to verbally accept an offer before a written offer is provided.

I just finished an interview and the hiring manager made some comments during the interview that I believe are 🚩🚩🚩. Among the comments were, “the person needs to help show Sr. Management the FP&A dept is important and brings value.” “I’m going to be honest, we have other candidates for this position, you need to bring your game to the second interview”. The rest of the interview was describing their problems as a dept and then proceeds to ask if I can handle it. How can I respectfully decline?

I’m looking for some advice. I’m a mechanical engineering graduate with 1 YOE as a lead mechanical design engineer at a biotech startup. I don’t enjoy the R&D space as much as I thought I would and want a job that’s WFH but I still enjoy problem solving as an engineer. Is it worth it for me to go back to school for a software masters or bootcamp? What are some other roles I can pursue with my background?

Anyone feel frustrated at times with the super aggressive sales personalities we deal with? My AE is always pushing on every ask no matter how minuscule it is. My vp is super anal about anything we do. I understand these guys pull in huge commissions and bonuses that’s why they are so motivated. However what I personally feel is they just nag us until we do the job according to their spec. Just venting……anyone else feel the same?

Hi everyone,

Not long ago I obtained bachelors and in the interim I have been working at Morgan Stanley. I started thinking about next steps for my education and initial thought was to just go straight to MBA but then I started hearing about people with BS in Business and Masters in different areas not that closely related. Is it even possible to to do for instance masters in law if I only have bs in business or for example masters in something related to renewable energy or so?

They are now offering 175K base 20K bonus. They also declined my negotiation for sign on bonus to make up for what I’m leaving on the table by exiting my current firm. Think I should push it any further? I am ready to accept it personally.
