180k base, 30k sign on, 150k RSU (4 yrs), 15% yearly bonus and 15k relocation package. What's my 1st year TC?
I just started at a different B4 firm and want to refer a friend to the firm as well. Would it hurt him if I made the referral or should I ask someone more tenured? I actually don’t care about the bonus so all ears if someone else can refer haha
Say you are going for a new job, and they ask you how much you’re looking for, what percentage higher salary than you would actually hope for do you ask for to leave some negotiating room?
Do all Big4’s get bonus in 2 instalments (May and Sept) ? Even if the review period is for April 21-March 22 ? Or any equivalent practice as per your appraisal cycle ?
I’m curious what the comp is like at salesforce as a business development rep? Also, what’s it like working for this org from a politics side of things? Ie. i know they mandated vaccine, anything else?

Starting to look for a new consulting job as I am moving to LA. Doing some preliminary research before I start interviewing for manager roles at various firms.
1. What firm do you work for?
2. Did you get a sign on bonus & for how much?
3. What is your base salary?
4. What are your bonus expectations?
5. Do you recommend your firm?
Does base vs bonus really matter? I have an offer for 160k with 15k sign on. I was hoping for ~180k bonus (without sign on). But doing the math, it comes out very close to as if I’d have a 175k base without sign on? Maybe I used wrong tax rates? Anyone can help?

How do you approach your current employer/leadership telling them you have an offer from a competing firm at a better salary but don’t actually want to leave.
Im up for VP next year but want to leave banking for multiple reasons but 1 relevant for this Q is I don’t want the VP role.
My question is - should I tell my group head I want to leave shortly after bonus hits? (Plan to start looking soon and go full force after bonus).
Want to avoid doing VP work but don’t want to quit until I get a new job. Will work reduced job knowing I’m foregoing next bonus so I think it’s fair given bonus is large % of total comp.
We are all living weekend to weekend!

Just got an offer in a boutique firm to do civil litigation. I am currently in tax, so I have no experience whatsoever. I have been interested in litigation for a while but I don’t know if I’ll like it. Understandably, I’ll be starting out as a staff since I have no experience in that area. Should I take the risk and make the jump?

About to moving to Mountain View. Now I am afraid the town can be so boring for a professional single woman in her late 30’s. Are people social and energetic there? Should I better off choosing NYC?
I’ve had issues since high school, but just formally got diagnosed with ADHD. I’ve always managed to get by okay at work (I’m no super star), but remote meetings have been really difficult for me and I now feel like I’m barely hanging on. Trying meds now, but no benefits yet. Pros and Cons of disclosing the diagnosis to my team, partner, or firm? I’m torn.

Job opportunity (mgr title, 4-6 yr exp needed) in Internal Audit (w/ data analytics exposure) at one of the largest private companies in Chicago. I interviewed with them (director and vp) till last round and decided to pursue a different opportunity. Great and caring people who seems to support what you wanna do at this position. Since it’s private there is a lot of room to create and build from the best practice. lmk if you are interested or know someone needs help. Thanks!

My company will be doing holiday party this year! It’s been three years since I went to a legit holiday party 🤣 I have been spoiled by past parties at the wardolf Astoria or tavern on the green and my last employer had really bad parties - think crappy dinner at a chain restaurant or white elephant exchange in the office. I am not making sense …
How do you get the most out of your Series 7? From feeling like you are actively using it and making a nice income. I would hate to feel like I need a career move just because the Pay isn’t where I need it to be or maybe it’s because I am in Ohio?

What type of resources do you feel are important for you to succeed at work/in your position?
I’ve been in corporate America and Finance for less than a year but every time I have interacted with a woman who’s an MD or higher up, seeking mentorship or advice, they have just been so cold and rude! I’m also POC and have actively reached out to other WOC who are senior to me and I keep experiencing this. I can understand being busy and having more than you can juggle on your hands but I do not understand the lack of empathy? Albeit my sample size is small here but is it just me?
Hey all, what’s your opinion on providing 2 Week notice? Do you think it’s still standard or depends on the situation.
I recently received my start date for a new job, and am happy to be leaving my current situation- it is a very hostile environment. I’m debating whether to give a week or two week notice.
Do you work in a gossipy office? I am discovering that I do. I don’t like to participate in the gossip so I usually just listen and nod or try to find a silver lining in the situation to bring positivity. What tips do you have to avoid getting sucked in/being the subject of the gossip?

Any ladies work in FinTech? Interested in what your salary is. I work for an insurance carrier but manage our relationships with our platform partners, manage firm relationships to leverage those FinTech partners, do training/webinars, create marketing, develop strategy, collaborate across multiple internal business partners to create opportunities while also being the SME for the platforms. My job is so new and so random? That it is hard for me to determine what my true worth is.
How have you navigated your career being one of the very few women in the room? This is a daunting dynamic to confront early in a career that it will likely be this way going forward.
Did anyone see the post in the Work-Life bowl posted by the analyst? Saying that he(26M) was scared to be judged at corporate events for his gfs(19F!!!) hair color & tattoos? If you didn’t, please check out the comments. And then remember that these are men in the financial industry, that could very well be your coworkers. The grooming. The objectification. I am disgusted, but not surprised.
My boss suggested an internal development program to me that involves moving to a different team and likely a demotion. He later retracted and said he didn’t know about the job levels. Not sure how I’m supposed to feel about this
I am a current IB analyst at a BB in an industry coverage group. Have been thinking of recruiting to PE but don’t know where and how to start. Any advice? Also, is there a way we could share our prep resources and materials here?

Would you say this was unprofessional, or would you have done the same? I was called out to present on a call mon night on which I got humiliated with questions: such as why are you telling us this, what even is this that you are sharing, kept getting cut off to explain myself. I was of course the only woman in the meeting. I literally cried after that’s how awful I felt. So today, similar call was scheduled, I just rejected, said I had something urgent come up and didn’t go.
