Orientation at its finest .
You will apply for SSN after you land in US. Employer need SSN to process payroll (among other things) so bring enough money with you for at-least one month if there is any delay in receiving your SSN. Best of luck and congrats on your H1-B visa

They usually put a provisional SSN into their system and you give them your SSN after arrival as you have to apply in person. Your i-94 will be available online so you can give that to them via email after you enter the country.

Enlighten your employer that US laws don’t allow to apply for SSN from outside US for folks on visa.
Yes. No work around unfortunately. Tell HR.
who is the employer? they should be very well aware those documents are applied after arrival .
They might be asking to get these details as soon as you arrived not before your travel. Could be your misunderstanding.
