I recently accepted a management trainee position in Northern California. Just received a call earlier about someone backing out in Austin, Texas and they wanted to know if I would be interested in training there instead of California. They will adjust the compensation because cost of living is cheaper. How do I negotiate with trying to stay in the range of my compensation I initially agreed to, instead of adjusting to the cost of living in Texas?

Tell them you are willing to consider TX only if the compensation stays the same. Otherwise, see you in Cali. However, you may be limited on future increase because you will likely be over the range of the regional bracket.

Let them know you would only consider it if the comp stays the same. I would be surprised if they go for it though, simply because Texas and California comp are probably pretty different. Maybe not so much because it's in Northern Cali? Either way good luck!

Hi Everyone,

45 LPA Base + 25% Variable Bonus + 25% RSUS.

I do have a better offer than this in terms of the base package. I just want to know can Walmart revise my offer if I try to renegotiate or this is the best at IN4 Level.
Thanks

Saw an open internal role within a team I’d like to join. Went through the interviews and felt I’m going to get an offer soon. However, the hiring manager would like to speak to my manager to discuss an appropriate date for the move. Given that our team is very busy at this time and I own several projects, I have a feeling my manager will want to delay such move. My worry is that the delay may be too far our (several months) that the hiring team will decide to get someone else. What should I do?

Question about bonuses in industry:

Recently applied for a role and was told along the way there was a bonus of 25-40%. Received an offer confirming the details with the same bonus range. Accepted the offer.

When I received the contract, the bonus was “discretional, capped at 40%”

I queried this and was told this was their standard terms and it would not be changed to include the minimum bonus.

Is it true this is standard practice to not include a minimum for the bonus range?

The one at the Associate level is also getting the same promotion/same salary increase. Should I ask my manager about why this is happening? Howdy, I just received and offer from Boeing for an Electrical Systems Engineer 2 position. Location is Oklahoma City.

Offer is for 89k, no sign on bonus or signing extras.

Previously I worked for another large electronics company making 93k, in Tulsa Oklahoma, with stock bonuses putting me just over 100k. I moved to Oklahoma city in the start of 2022 to be closer to family and took a pay cut to 70k.

I countered with a request for 95k and some extra PTO days. Is this reasonable? Thoughts?
