I recently came off a project in which I didn’t perform well and am dealing with daily feelings of insecurity in my current role. Very akin to imposter syndrome- advice for how to be confident again?

Went through this myself and can definitely say it will get better OP! My senior on the project even wrote me a nasty comment on my performance review which was very out of the ordinary here. You always have a chance to start fresh on the new project and you’d be surprised how much/how fast people’s perspective of you can change once you get back on track and start killing it again! For me I tried to make sure I was keeping on track with my new project after this happened to me but also carry that energy through to my daily life. You got this 🤗

I had the same thing happened so it's good to hear that someone else has had the issue. Other feedback seems good . For me, I took responsibility for the parts that I could change (ie time management) but also gave myself some slack around the project driving myself into the ground (long hours).

I had a similar experience. The project I rolled onto after the bad experience was an absolute breath of fresh air. They loved me and I’ve never felt so confident in my abilities at this job. The client offered me a job directly with them, which I turned down because I got a great offer elsewhere and today is my last day at the firm! All this to say, 6 months ago I was in a VERY different place. Sometimes you just don’t gel with the managers for whatever reason (and if you’re a good resource, most often that reason is because of them, not you).

That’s such a positive story! On the contrary, my manager was wonderful and helpful; I happened to suck in this case! Enjoying the failure to success stories to boost my mood :)

I️ really feel you with this.. I️ feel like it shows genuine care about your performance. Having a great relationship with your manager shows that he/she can see your true potential, beyond your personal expectations for that project. Celebrate when managers are helpful/wonderful, it means you’re going in the right direction. You may have exceed their expectations, even if you help yourself to higher standards. Also remember that one role does not define your capabilities. (I️ still struggle with this) but learn, then let go

i constantly try to remind myself that it’s just part of the growing pains. Sometimes there are stretch marks, but all for good reason!

I used to get along very well with a friend from my previous workplace (left 2 months ago) and we still keep in touch, but I noticed that there's really nothing to talk about anymore. When I bring up a non-work/coworkers related topic, they would respond with disinterest or ignore it completely. Now I still receive messages often regarding the previous job that I don't care about.
