Most likely your criminal background check and credit report are usually the last to complete. Once those are made available to your prospective employer then the job should be yours. Did you receive the offer in writing?
You should wait a few days until all checks are in. Hope this helps!
I see. You could always send an email noting that you are excited about the job offer and look forward to continue in the selection process.
No more than that.
You’ll soon be negotiating salary and benefits with them. Sounds like the job is yours.
Congratulations!
It can take awhile for things like criminal background and credit checks to come through. Provided you don't have anything to hide there, I wouldn't sweat it. Nothing wrong with following up, though.
I’ve got good credit, and besides someone’s salary in parking tickets my record is clean
This happened to me, when performing a background check I was flagged due to another individual having a criminal record. Since I have a common name (first /last) and lived close to the same location as this individual I had to wait until a thorough investigation was completed with mugshot/ criminal record confirmation from local police department. Luckily, I am also a veteran my fingerprints are on file and made the process a little easier. It did take some time from start to finish.
It took roughly 2-6 months, I did accept the offer and worked in the position during the investigation. I had to sign a form stating I understood the repercussions if the background check shows that it is indeed myself with the criminal past. I did received a letter after the completion of the investigation that I was cleared.
I’ve been in practice 35 years, and am apparently fairly boring! 👍
I recommend waiting another week.
My background check was reported incorrectly for my current job. For some reason when my current company reached out to check employment at my previous company, the previous company reported an incorrect end date of years prior. I disputed it and proved it by faxing over my most recent check stub. So the overall background check process took a little bit to sort out. It worked out in the end though.
Also when they start credentialing you they will check any company you had malpractice with and see if you have ever had a claim.
What is your specialty? How long have you been in practice?
THis happens all the time. I had this happen at my last role.I would just follow up and ask. It can sometimes take up to two weeks.
I actually just got a reply from the director, she said she doesn’t know why it was taking so long but she’s gonna go to HR and see what’s up
