I recently got selected at Accenture, I hold a better offer from big 4 now. hr is not willing to consider to match my CTC, I wish to decline the offer now. Can I quote this very reason and decline the offer?

Yes you can quote the same reason. Additional, just speak to the HR and ask politely can you quote the reason in the email. Apart from this, if the Offer from Big4 isn't 20%+ more than Accenture.... Try to avoid Big4

Same situation for me also.....i dont understand why they are not ready for revision? In my case, i've asked 1L less than the current offer

like

Same situation for me too, proj is good but fixed is low and variable is high. Hence rejected the offer

like

Same happened with me. I guess they have stopped revising the salary

like

Join big 4, acn HR are never willing to revise the fixed pay, they always put a lot of variable and in reality you will get may be half of it! They will come up with all absurd reasons to low ball you!

like

I wish to add to this situation. In my case the accenture guys put my candidature on hold (Luckily got the reason from the HR), stating that the business declined to match the CTC I asked for because it's high. And this happened post me submitting all the possible documents from my end! Confused as to what to do.

like

What is your YOE and the packages you are getting from Big4 and Accenture? Also the domain details would be needed before I can suggest.

like

Thank you for the suggestion. The difference is quite a lot. Accenture is not ready to match my offer as well. The variable component is too high and fixed too low. I had liked the role at Accenture, but HR isn't willing to negotiate at all.

Currently make 75k in a low cost of living area as a government employee. Big 4 tax background with 5 years experience. Currently working in regulation. I have an opportunity to move back into tax but the catch is it’s in San Francisco. Offer is 130k with a target 10% bonus and 5% pension contribution. Based on my pay and what my spouse could make in SF the pay differential would be a slight decrease based on COL. I’m not seeing a bright future in my government career due to continual budget...

Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls

🐠 with industry experience: how does the internal networking required to advance compare to that which is required to make partner at a B4? I am really starting to hate firm politics and don’t know if I have what it takes to make it.

I’ve been on H1B October 2019, expiring in 2022. I’m kind of clueless as to what happens next. Does my firm start the green card process soon because it’s been almost 2 years (ive heard/read you need to work 2 years before they do that at big 4). What does that entail and how long until the green card comes out after that? And when they renew my H1B for another 3 years is that a guarantee extension and not a lottery like the first one?

I hope everyone at EY will book vacation in November/December to use the accrued hours they EARNED. This PTO thing really is a shame, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the other B4 follow suit. The one thing we all have in common is leadership finding creative ways to screw over employees.
