I recently joined new company to do BDR work for 2 markets (2 Emea countries) - for 1 specific solution. Everything was becoming clear before Q3 including territory and quotas. But now my AE had complained to sales manager that 2 markets is too big for 1 BDR and my territory is reduced to 1 country. Even though my quota of pipegen remains the same. I feel that my AE has substantially downcreased my earnings potential.

Question for any/all who will answer. Long time individual contributor(12+ years) to a fortune 100 company. Past 7+ years have earned between 600k-800k /year after building out a GTM PE practice which currently does $30M+. Looking to take that framework and replicate for any startup or mid market company with direct GTM B2B looking to accelerate revenue. What’s a reasonable ask on equity vs earned income. Thinking 2-4% and 300-400k/ year. Thoughts?

Has anyone made the move from vendor side to an existing client? A client I closed is hiring and I think I’d be a great fit. However, I know I need to navigate with care. What are some “typical” career paths for Account Executives other than working up towards the largest enterprise AE roles. After being in sales for 6 years, I’m relatively naive to any other than “leadership” and wonder what other options to consider are out there. I’d even be open so some not so typical ones that people have enjoyed/found success in. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone feel like the AEs crushing their numbers generally walk into a great account versus working really hard on prospecting? I’ve worked for Microsoft and Servicnow as a Strategic AE and I rarely saw the successful AEs (+200% attainment) doing any prospecting or needing BDR.
Hey all- I’m a L&D Professional with some sales experience. I want to jump into Sales L&D but many roles require sales experience. I’ve helped close complex sales for large scale project work but have never been held accountable to monthly revenue targets since it wasnt my primary role with the exception of a brief time spent as an SDR. Looking for input if I should just go for Sales L&D positions or start as an AE and then apply for Sales L&D. Currently have interview for AE role with Gartner.
Question: how much money can be made in Tech sales by someone with a top 3 business school MBA and 12 years of non-sales experience? I've worked for some big names, but in Ops & Finance mainly.
