Let me guess, corporate? Is it really OK at any big firm? Partners, is this the new normal and you’ll accept losing associates after only six months? I know attrition has always been high but holy moly.

That’s what I’m saying. I’m done with this and don’t really care about my career trajectory anymore. I just want a job to support myself and will take a pay cut of over 50% if I can just have my life back. Will it totally tank my career to leave after 6 months (NOT to another firm)? I’m just done.

No, not weird at all. Government definitely doesn’t care. Smaller firms probably won’t either

A3, lots of smaller firms are indeed not worth it—same work for less money. But there are smaller firms where that’s not true. They can be more difficult to find, but they’re out there

Final FP&A interview tomorrow with the director. Have already had one interview with the hiring manager, and two interviews with the team. What should I expect for tomorrow? Recruiter who scheduled the interview said keep doing what you’re doing and be yourself. Does that mean the team didn’t think I was myself during their interviews? Or am I reading into this too much?

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
