I recently spoke with a recruiter about a position I had previously interviewed and when I asked about Salary she let me know it was against their company policy to share a salary range and I had to tell them what my range was.. is this a thing I missed or was she lying?

I was offered a Strategy Director role in NYC at $150k and I told them that I won't take less than $170k. I'm an African-American woman and I know holding companies are paying a premium for Black talent. Why offer me $150k as if I don't know the market and that you're hiring me in some manners for PR.I've been offered as much as $200K for healthcare Strategy Director roles, so $150k is a no go. Software Engineer, 3.5 Years of experience, remote job with a company that has a shared workspace office in Denver and a small team here but is mostly remote for tech jobs, company is headquartered in Oklahoma. Base pay 97,000, 10% profit share bonus, 6% 401k match after 1 year, other benefits at the low/mid range. Not sure if this is a good compensation package, but based on housing costs and living costs here, it's on the low range.
