I’m job hunting in Los Angeles, looking at a variety of titles (HRBP, Sr. HRBP, Manager, Sr. Manager, Director). I have 8 YOE and my SHRM-SCP. I reached my report limit on payscale.com, so I used a variety of other sites to price the roles (BLS, salary.com, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Robert Half). The problem I’m having is the huge inconsistencies between sources (there are $40k differences between some of the identified medians). (Continued…)
PHR or SHRM-CP?
How impactful it’s to be SHRM certified?
I work for a larger company and the only difference I found in the interview process was that there were a couple additional rounds, since there were more people involved in the hiring decision. Once you have a few companies in mind, you should be able to Google them to see if there are any specific interview prep tips (check YouTube as well). As far as leads, I'd probably post this in the referrals bowls as well. Hopefully you'll be able to get some traction there.
Sounds like you’re very ripe for a great opportunity! First thing, please be active and ensure your LI profile is updated. Please connect with individual in those roles or recruiters at bigger companies to get your name referred as a strong candidate after applying. Secondly, leverage a headhunter to offer you leads and to send your resume/interest of their behalf for you. You shouldn’t have issues getting back into retail industry, roles are dime a dozen and plenty in PNW geography. I’d also say to put your LI as open to work and share it out broadly with your network of what you’re looking for and you’d be surprised how everyone will share and like your profile to get a far reach. Best of luck!

You might want to check the referral bowl. If you can get anything there, you can check LinkedIn. Just make sure that your profile is updated.
