You feel lost because you don't know what is a good next step, or because you know the steps but are overwhelmed when executing?
It's a bit surprising that you miss deadlines but can't point to the overall why. What part of the process do you struggle with? The business understanding? Scoping? Data slicing & dicing? Tooling?

And where is the documentation? If there's insufficient data gov/catalog/lineage you're gonna keep struggling until you get familiar with the data. Find someone else with a similar role in the company. Do they also struggle? Some companies allow a few people to become information gatekeepers instead of investing in proper data management.

Lastly, it's a very different skill set than your previous role, you need more deep focus which can take a lot of discipline to achieve. I did the opposite switch.

like

Well not enough info to help. What are you struggling with? Can you focus on mastering single task first? Have you had 1:1s with your manager?

But you’ve been doing this for 4 months only? You probably have already noticed some progress compared to the first month?

It does sound like the work allocation and mng is the issue not that you wouldn’t be able to take on tasks.

Hmm, interesting point about trial and error, because when I work with BI I am focusing on the tables first and visuals and dax come naturally afterwards and always dependant on what lies beneath.

Disclaimer - my job is not related to Power BI. Sooo perhaps someone more skilled can chip in. :)

There appears to be little "on the job training". It's as if you're expected to know everything day one. There's no certifying body or standards (i.e., nothing equivalent to PMI), or offline groups for community and relationship building.

I’ve been in my first in house role for just over a year. I was recently contacted by a recruiter I spoke to a few years ago about a near identical position at a similar company. The high end of the pay range for the new job could be a 20% bump in base salary. I’m generally happy at my job and it feels early to throw my hat in the ring, but that’s a significant potential pay bump. Career projection would be similar in both roles I think as they are very similar companies. Is it worth exploring?

Ladies I need your advice - just got a new job that pays 200k in tech, but also got into my dream masters program that costs 120k for two years. Going to grad school is out of pure interest since it’s for a similar field as my new job, but social impact related. The grad school is prestigious, and I’ll have a great time learning from brilliant students. At the same time, the degree won’t land me any better paying jobs (prob much lower) so I’m hesitant to let go of this job offer.

Hi, fishes

I have some queries regarding leaving a job after joining.
In the offer letter, they have
mentioned that:
You will be on training/probation for a period of 18 (Eighteen) months from the date of joining the
Company.
Now, there are three scenarios for leaving a company
1. Between the training period.
2. After completion of the training period.
3. After completion of training+prohabtion period.
Pls, Answer three of them for a better understanding. Will there be any problem or not?

My boss turns down everything I suggest for our projects. I take her feedback to fix it up, even when it’s little to none and it’s still not good for her. The only time it’s approved by her is when it’s her EXACT work. I’ve stressed to her ab giving me more detailed feedback, but she ignores it. Why hire me in the first place? Why manage someone if you don’t know how? If it’s not her exact way, it’s wrong. I’m someone who’s very passive, so I have a hard time speaking up. What should I do?
