I recently tested positive for COVID. Luckily I feel fine and am working/quarantining at home. However, I told my roommate and she refuses to get tested and is still going into her office on a daily basis (staunch conservative that says she feels fine and has no symptoms). This obviously infuriated me and led to a big fight but she won’t budge. How should I handle this...?

Or health department, don't they have to contact employers anyway? Have them do a contact trace.

Maybe she gave it to you, like many asymptomatic people have done to others. Regardless of political beliefs, the selfishness of some, always surprises me.

Honestly, this is so goddamn selfish. Im glad she’s ~fine~ but that doesn’t mean that people who she will spread to will be. The nerve of some people.

She’s probably fine. Both my husband and his BIL had it. Neither myself, his sister or kids tested positive. Obviously we share a bed, etc, but never tested positive and neither did his sister. Also, if you’re not displaying symptoms, you’re carrying a much lower dose of the virus and might not be able to spread it at all. To give more details, my husband just thought he had allergies as he had no fever at all just tired with a runny nose and after 6 days I made him get a test. We didn’t go anywhere in those days to be able to spread it, but we didn’t act any differently as far as him being around me and the kids. Read somewhere it’s only a 12% chance of spreading it among households in peer reviewed papers.

Assuming you have been in very close contact with her and not quarantined completely. What does she do for work? Assuming businesses have employees wear masks if at all in close quarters (which most do), that should hopefully prevent most likelihood of spread. Maybe try getting tested a second time to confirm positivity (if that’s even an option) as a way of showing there’s minimal chance of a false positive and that she should really get tested

Call your health department and try to get their advice. Don't name them initially or yourself. You may be able to get them involved without giving yourself away.

Does anyone maybbbbbe think that this new “spike” in corona virus cases could be possibly caused by these massive riots in every major city? Not saying the riots are bad or wrong, but let’s not kid ourselves and say these aren’t a contributing factor. So when people are surprised at the USAs rising rates, I mean come on...

My principal approached me in the car pick up line on Friday to inform me that I’ve taken to many days off & school has just started. I took 1day off when my daughter tested positive for Covid, I had an doctor’s appt that had been scheduled 6 months ago to see the hematologist. Being that I’m anemic, current labs showed I need to have 2 iron infusions. I put in for 2 more days off to have that done. He told me in the future to wait until a work day! We done have any until December!!

Tired of being shamed by family for the precautions I’m taking to ensure my family, including 2-month-old, are not putting ourselves in any situation that may cause unnecessary risk of contracting covid. Was called selfish for not attending a bday party (ironic), was made to feel bad when I asked family (who had travelled to Florida for fun, gone out to bars/restaurants, etc.) to get tested before coming to see the newborn. Just be respectful of how others are dealing with the pandemic, please!

Today they announced they’re shutting it down. 😂
